Is that something you'd be interested in helping with, for proper compensation?

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

If the subframe is just tweaked, just un-tweak it.

thats what I'm thinking. sportbike guys just put a pipe on it and tweak it back. mines a bit bent from my crash but not enough to make a difference so I never bothered fixing it.

how bad is your subframe-post a pic. or a link to where you might have posted it before.

Pics of the subframe in that post. It's pretty bad. I emailed those same pics to a guy from GSB.. he quoted $150-$250 to repair.... I have to take it to him once it's running, and let him appraise it in person..

how much of the subframe is bent? Is it more than just that rear part where the grab rail mounts? The pics suggest its just that peice.

you can also buy a gs frame (you know, from someone on ebay without title) and cut off the subframe to reweld it to your frame. If you went that route you'd have to be sure to get a 01+ model year because the earlier ones had different mounting points for the plastics. Doing this might be easier than trying to fix anything on this subframe, and cheaper/less headaches than trying to ghetto-rig a subframe from something else, especially if you dont have skills for that sort of fabrication.

Yeah, the actual subframe, as far as I can tell, isn't tweaked at all.. just the point with the grab rail... however, the point with the grab rail is also the main mounting point for the tail plastics. I'm thinking of going to a bike junkyard and trying to find a good one off a bike there.. supposedly, there's one close, Dave knows where it is.

I was just thinking of trying to go custom, and that bobber on the SV is REALLY hot. As for the fabrication skills.. I have none.. YET.. I wouldn't mind playing around and learning though.

Whatever, it's 3:44 AM.. I just watched the second hand on a clock for 40 minutes straight.. I'm not coherent enough to be contemplating this right now.

I appreciate everyone's suggestions.. keep em coming!

No shaZam!? I could be down for that... I'll have to have someone else buy the beer though.. damn 21+ laws..

On an unrelated note.. Mak, you must be the only person I know who sleeps less than me...

Man I wouldn't take a dime! I'm just 2.5 hrs away.. You should be able to straighten that out, think a bout a 3lb hammer and a 24" pipe wrench, you could just twist some of that back with the wrench. Even if it wasn't perfect, as long as the plastics mounting points are straight you should be able to hide the rest.
If it comes out of your body you shouldn't be afraid to hold it in your hand! :o

Mak doesn't sleep.
Mak dont sleep.

"Mak doesn't sleep."

"Doesn't" is the contraction of the words "does" and "not".
~~Makenzie does not sleep.

"Mak don't sleep."

"Don't" is the contraction of the words "do" and "not".
~~Makenzie do not sleep.

This sentence would need a comma after "Makenzie" to be correct.
~~Makenzie, don't sleep.

At that point, though, it becomes a command, and not a statement.

You telling me what to do, punk?

Actually, the words referred to by Mak are contractions, not conjunctions. Conjunctions are the joining of two ideas (using words or phrases, such as either/or and neither/nor); contractions are the joining of two words (do not = don't). Sorry, but Mak is fired.   :icon_mrgreen:

pantablo

you missed my point entirely...If you're going to talk in the 3rd person you need "attitude" with it...thus the 'don't' usage instead of the proper usage of doesn't.
