Any recommendations on a good pair of waterproof motorcycle boots? i recently purchased these:

...and while i really liked the way they looked (for $100 waterproof boots), they were ridiculously stiff and uncomfortable. i had absolutely zero feel on the shifter and brake, and had two nasty indentations on my shins by the time i got to work. So, they're going back.

Does anyone have a better recommendation? Preferably somewhere in the same price range?

I love my Tourmasters that I bought from newenough.com

They are comfortable and fit wonderfully (size down).  I don't, however, ride in the rain, so I can't attest for their waterproof qualities.

Sidi Strada Evo Tepors are really fantastic.  I've ridden with these in some serious rain, for a few hours, and had no problems with water leaking into the boot.  I've also stepped (inadvertantly) off the bike and into a few inches of water, and again they held up perfectly -- no leaks at all.

Besides being waterproof, they're quite comfortable and the toe is narrow so it's easy to slip it under the shifter (unlike my Daytona's, which feel more like ski boots).  However, if you plan to wear pants over the boot, I find that the upper part of the boot cuts into my calves a little.  This usually isn't an issue for me as I nearly always ride with leathers.

Also, they're not as cheap as your current boot.  You'll be spending about twice as much.  You might also want to check out the Sidi Way Tepor Street Boots.  I think they'd be just as waterproof (Tepor), but considerably cheaper.

I have the Sidi Way Tepor boots...  They're not shoes... They're made for riding, but they're not terrible uncomfortable.

But, you have to have Sidi feet... Not A* feet.

You'll see what I mean when you try 'em on.

And yes...  I love 'em.   :thumb:

Do you think you could tell me what you mean (i may not have a chance to try 'em on ;))?

Sidi boots are for people with narrow feet.

Don't buy boots you haven't tried on.

for trying no purposes I fond that going to a big cycle shop that you know has a lot of gear and trying on the different brands to get a feel of what size you will run for a specific brand is good enough.  You don't have to try on the actualy line of a brand to get a feel for the sizing.  But then again i could be completely wrong for you

Exactly.  I wear a size 13 hiking boot, tennis shoe, sandal, etc.  However, the size 13 Tourmasters were too large.  Newenough.com was great about exchanging them for size 12s without a restock fee.
