Should that be used regularly, like the fuel injector cleaners for cars?

not really unless you live somewhere where there is a lot of dirt or you let it sit for a while.  I ride mine just about everyday and I have only used 1 bottle of carb cleaner in 10,000miles.   and she still runs fine.     PS im in florida.

Most premium pump gas contains more than enough detergent to keep carbs and fuel injectors clean.  Plus modern oil virtually never turns into sludge in a motor.  So needless to say there is very little need to worry about such things.

BUT last summer Anne's bike started to hesitate more than usual and I put a little fuel injector (like a splash because 1 bottle treats 13 gallons)  cleaner into the tank.  After a tankful the carb problems went away.

Carb cleaners can cause the rubber seals to swell, which may be good if you have a leak. But bad if it's a moving part, it may cause binding and eventally wear out quicker.
