What gear do you use for pushstarting the bike, first or second? I've done it in first, but someone was telling me they use second.

Hipocracy.... becoming more acceptable with the more power you think you have.

You can do it in first, but second is easier.

2nd.

tell Lauren to use 2nd.

Hah, I was actually asking for myself since I'll be putting my new battery in tonight, and with my luck I might have to. Her bike, that's a whole different story.  :cookoo:

Also, with second, do you need to push down on the back as much? When I've done it in first, I've really had to plop my weight down on the seat so the tire will have enough traction to not spin.

It will spin easier in second, thus requiring less weight on the back to get traction. I've even done it in third for people, just pop the clutch.

Stupid hurts. Dress for the crash, not for the ride.

Yeah second works best, you shouldn't have a problem with the wheel skidding like you may in first, but if you're replacing your battery, it's best to charge the battery first on a trickle charger for a few hours. Your bike will charge it up with a decent ride, but it's easier to charge it slowly the first time. Of course if you don't have a charger, screw it, charge it with a 20 minute ride.
