Admit it--your target fixation wasn't with the guard rail--it was with the girl's booty.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Oh damn thats not bad at all, the way you were talking I though it was totalled.  Might as well make arrangements to pick up the bike sense the insurance company is going to make the check out to me.  And I'm in no hurry will start collecting parts off of ebay and do the labor myself and pocket the difference. :thumb:

You've filed a claim, right Dave?  Have you not seen the bike?  I'd guess its probably at a shop where it was being checked out.

Hope the frame ended up okay.

Time to go naked, eh?

Did you point out to the shop that the forks are a little off? Looking at your pictures I noticed they seem to go off to the left a little bit.

Nah, it's just a trick of perspective.  They're fine.

The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Yeah, I think it's the fairing that's tweaked.

I think so too.  if you notice, the whole bike is leaned over on it's kick stand, but the top fairing is vertical.

Nice Guy I hope this does not come back to nip you in the butt. About three weeks ago my friend Jay let his room mate Brady use his car and unfortunately Brady had totally wrecked his car, Jay's  insurance co. paid him with no problems the blue book value which was only a few hundred dollars more than what he still owed, but now Jays insurance co. is after Brady because he was the person operating the vehicle and was not on Jays policy. We all thought for sure Jays insurance co. would deny his claim in the first place, but from what we are finding out now the insurance companies would rather pay their clients, to keep there nose's clean, and then they go to the other person's insurance co who was operating the vehicle. In a case like Brady's (who's 22) he is only insured on his parents policy for there vehicle's, and Brady is now screwed because his parents insurance co. will not reimburse Jay's. I truly do hope that Blue's policy might cover the bike no matter what or who was driving, but I've just never heard of that before. Anywho I'm glad your OK and that it works out for the best.
Being naked was great, but now that I'm older I thought I should cover up!!!!

Mods?  What mods, no really its stock!!

Dave, I've got a set of forks coming, was going to put them on my GS, but I'll put em on your GS instead. Also, you're welcome to my new clipons, if you want em... Beyond that, I'll figure stuff out... obviously, I'll do any/all labor/pay for parts/deductible/etc...

Are you gonna go naked, or keep the fairings?

Whenever you want to go up there, let me know, I'll ride up to help load it, etc...

Just let me know.... I met up with some people from GSB for dinner tonight... and they would NOT stop cracking on me... everyone kept asking "How'd the guy whose bike it was react?"... nobody could believe how cool you are... they all thought you were a fake person too!

I think Dave is fake too... :)

He sent me a front rim before I even made an offer and before I even paid him for it.  He says, look it over, and if ya want it, make me an offer."

me thinks it is stolen from a blue GS.

j/k Dave.  You are one cool guy.  I hope someday, I get a chance to meet you in person. :thumb:

Never trust a man with a mustache.  8)

The forks comment was meant to be sarcastic, are they actually straight? There is no way they are straight within even 2 inches.

blue05twin

NGFL dont worry about the front forks like I said my insurance is going to cover it.  You'll need those for your bike.  I'm going to call the insurance company later today to see how much I'm getting or if they are  going to total the bike.  I dont' think they will going from the pic's most of the damage just looks cosmetic.

I'm going to send you a pm I need to know the address and phone number where the bike is so I can start making arrangement on picking it up.  That would be cool if you could come along that would save me from getting lost trying to find the shop and I could use some help loading up the bike.

Everyone you live with should be listed on your insurance policy (as roomates, etc) because they always have access to the car/vehicle whether they're "allowed" to use the vehicle or not.  I think if you just lend it to a friend, that's different in the insurance company's eyes.  I could be full of it though.  (the part about roomates is true, though I'm not saying I ever listed my college roomates on my ins. policy)

Some insurance companies will insure vehicles etc... on an any driver policy so long as the driver is legal to use the vehicle. ie they have a valid license and arnt disqualified. This is usually on the basis that you must have given permission for them to ride the bike. Otherwise i think they would pay out for you under the idea the bike was taken without permission then they would seek to be rembursed by the driver/rider. This is only on the top insruance policies like fully comp. Others you have to ring up and just add a named driver/rider on the vehicle for a certain period of time (usually there is a minimum) and pay a little extra to cover it.

Things could have been worse for both Nick and the bike.

This guy...(drumroll please)...hit a guardrail at 40 mph.  Same type of accident with a much worse outcome.  He's okay, but he severely fractured one hand and arm and a few other bones.  13 days in the ICU and many weeks out of work.

Glad you're healthy, Nick.  I'm also glad you weren't riding an S4Rs Testastretta...
