The guy who wrecked that Testastretta said he couldn't wipe his own ass for weeks.  He's 37 and his Mom had to come live with him for 6 weeks.

Ride safe, everyone.

I don't know you personally but I have read a few posts that you have had out there and at some point I usually get a good chuckle over it.  So I am glad you are ok man!  Can I ask you what kind of gear you were wearing before the accident?  Just curious on how your views are either enforced or changed because of it.  I gear up pretty well even on local rides.  My main area for imporvement is pants.  I usually just wear jeans, but I am thinking of getting something better.  Anyone ever use or abuse the Joe Rocket riding jeans?  Any suggestions are welcome.  I have full leathers for the track, but they are a PIA on the street.

Again, glad to hear you are ok.  By the way, Dave, you are too cool and a good example for the rest of us.  I don't know you either, but it is pretty obvious.

I was wearing my Cortech GX-Air (2 holes... one in the mesh, one in the leather.. 1 patch of rash on me, roughly 1 inch square, no worse than a minor rug burn).... My Cortech Accelerator Gloves, no damage, and bluejeans (Not a SCRATCH on my legs.. I'm so lucky), and my "riding" boots ($20 at K-mart.. leather, steel toe, over the ankle)...

I wanted pants, and ordered a pair, they got lost in the mail, so I ordered these leathers...

I'm happy with all my gear... I will keep wearing the GX-AIR for around town.. but for twisties, etc.. it will be the full suit... I need to get a back protector though, cuz this new fieldsheer doesn't have one, nor does it have armor in the shoulders... just extra leather and padding.. makes me SLIGHTLY nervous.. but it's better than nothing, I suppose.

Dave, I'm waiting on a friend to return the second SP-1.. I went to a party in them... some drunk person took ONE of them home, and/or hid it.. just one.. pisses me off... so as soon as he finds it in his house or finds the drunkie who took it home, I'll get em back to you.. since I obviously won't be needing them for awhile... I like them though... I want to get some gauntlet gloves (in preparation for track days) and they were pretty comfortable... they're thick though.. compared to my summer gloves, I felt like I had almost no fine motor control...

He broke his other wrist, too.  I forgot to include that in the first posts.  This guy was seriously helpless.

you could always rig up a sawhorse type thing with a roll of toilet paper mounted on top, and a trash can underneath. Could get messy though.

Woohooo Just got off the phone with my insurance co.  and they just started the claims process.  They have been waiting for me to call but my cell phone got fried Sunday and my replacement just got here ( yeah I had insurance on my cell also).

Anyway I talked to the guy where my bike is and he thinks it's going to be totalled   He'll know more in two days and let me know.  According to him the front forks are definatly bent  :dunno_white:.  And so is the frame?  From the pic's it didn't look that bad.

I'll keep you posted.  As I find out more info.

The forks I knew were trash, they've got big kinks in em..  I was hoping like crazy that the frame was straight...

If the frame is bent I'm not going to even bother with it.  I'll call the shop up and see if they will let me take my kat shock, springs and a few other bits.  Or the insurance co. if they will not pay for it.

Oh damn that shop is 4 hrs aways from my house it's going to be an 8 hr round trip.  I got a trailer ready to go now all I need is a vechile with a hitch.

Doesn't Jon's acura have a hitch?

Depending on what insurance wants for it, it might be worth it to buy it back and part it out, no?

I would be better off putting a hitch on the Pac. . . hmmm there's an idea.

Not really I mean it probally would be worth parting out, I know I could sell most of it very fast.  But it would be mostly more time than I'm willing to put into it.  Not really into tearing things apart to make money I'd rather build something and sell it.  IF that makes any sense.

Well, I'm good at breaking things... err.. I mean, tearing them apart.. so if you get a good deal from state farm, I can part and sell it if you want, help recoup some losses...
