OK, here's one for all you guru's... When I start my bike (99 GS500E) it fires right up and runs smooth for about 45 seconds.  After that it sputters a little then dies.  After it dies I get a major gas pour out of the drain tube of the airbox.  This is my first bike and I have been told it may be the floats sticking in the carbs.  Any suggestions??

Flush the floatbowls by setting the frame petcock to PRIme and opening the drainscrew for a few seconds, tapping the floatbowl with the butt end of a screwdriver.  Repeat for other side.

Also, turn the choke off after 45 seconds and use the throttle to keep the rpm's up and steady (1500-2000rpm).
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?
