Some picts I shot at the Long Beach Cycleworld show.  It was the enclosed style presentation, and had one of the '07 999Rs.  Desmosedici was there, and my dad fell in love with the black S Multi, enough so that we are heading up to the Santa Barbara Duc dealer to trade in his ST2 for the Multi, and I might just pick up the dealer's '95 900SS/SP as it has Termi high pipes, among other mods, so look for another post with Duc picts as of next weekend.

OMG I LOVE the 1098. I read all about it in Motorcyclist. Definitely something I could get into. I love how it is lighter, more powerful, and cheaper (~$14,000 msrp) than the 999. Maybe I'll make space for a little Ducati in my life along with the Suzukis.
2006 SV650 K6....Finally back up and running!!! Now let the mods flow!

Just so you know...the last shot is NOT the 1098, it's the front end of the Multistrada 1100 S.

I like the 1098 simply because it's how the 998 would have looked, had it been re-designed in 2004.  Swingarm is the only sketchy piece on the bike, and now it's affordable.  Great stuff all around.  Makes the 999 look like a bloated, out-dated, stretched-out and ugly piece of machinery from the late '90s design schools.

Yeah, that one had me for a second there. I was like, "Why the hell does the 1098 not have radial brakes?! WTF?!"

EXACTLY! I LOVE that bike, just like I LOVE the 998...oh and the base model 1098 is $14,999...the tricolor 1098s model is $25k...and no, its not just a paintjob. I think the young hottie convinced me to go for a 1098 demo ride come late january (in Brea)...WHO'S WITH ME!

I'll go for a demo ride alright...

What a cutie...Yes, I'll head up to Brea to go romp on the 4-valver.  Be good to compare the 900SS/SP with the newest of the new.  Both about the same weight (after I put about 5K into c/f wheels and Ti parts for the 900) and it'll have half the HP, but meh...

On another note, there's that real cute blonde that works at gomoto.com's retail store in N. SD and we apparently live about 3 blocks apart from each other, we've both seen each other's bikes before, enough to recognize just from the description.  Kind of odd, how even with however many millions of people live in Cali below the Grapevine, shaZam! like that still happens a lot.

I don't know if I could date a chick that rides a 4-cylinder though...I might have to convert her from her F4i-enabled devious ways.

Had to find the card she gave me.  Yup.

Accomplished as in racing, or "Wow, a chick that rides a bike in the canyons"?

yea... Becky B....  I think she goes by Bex on Hypercycles.org and on Socal-sportbikes.com

I've had dinner with her, she's a really nice lady. It wasn't like an date or anything, there were other people up here in palmdale for a trackday and I just happened to get invited to dinner.... and got some riding tips from her and her buddies.

She's got a nice video out... let me see if I can find it.

Yeah, that does suck...but, much better off crashing there than ACH or Malibu or on the 101.

Funny how people that go from just riding on the street to going to track days always slow down on the street.  I guess I was lucky having started out racing MX and understanding what crashes do, and not pushing it on the street.
