Does anybody have any info on this bike. I've seen the spec(seat height 27')  :thumb: (I'm short). But does anybody have any experience riding the bike.

My friends and I are planning to go to Pattaya, Thailand to train Muay Thai in Fairtex gym. I thought why not ride motorcycles while I'm there. I'm also applying for an IDP (international drivers permit) They have several motorcycle renting places and the one that I saw was an NSR Honda. Oh yeah any advise on riding in Thailand or any foreign country in general. Any advise would be great. Thanks.

Ask Cal about riding in a foreign country.  He rides in England all the time!!!  And they ride on the wrong side of the street!

Cool in Thailand they also ride on the wrong side. I'll go ahead and do that. Thanks.

Who's Cal?

They are two-stroke racing bikes, so don't be fooled into thinking that low cc's means no power. Off the top of my head, I think the 125 is going to be around 40 hp (aka GS level) and the 250 is up in the 70-80 range. As you would expect from a two-stroke racer, I'm sure they are going to be tempermental as a street bike. That said, I would love a chance to ride one of them.

I don't really care about power. I just want a bike that would be easy to control. I heard Asians are drivers are crazy :).  I just wanna be able to get out of trouble.

I only found three sites for motorcycle renting in Pattaya. One was a Harley rentin place, then there's this Honda cruiser and Cheap Charlies was the one that had the Honda NSR. They don't really specify how big the engines were. The two non-harley renting place also had "semi-automatic" bikes(no idea).

If the 125 is around 40 hp I'll just rent that. Smaller bike should suit be just fine. Did I mention I was short? Thanks man.

What do you mean by tempermental?

Jake D

Cal Price.  He is a long time member here.  Not only is he  a wrong side of the road guy, but he recently took a trip from England to the Eastern Europe and back on his bike, a la Ewan McGregor.

Hopefully he'll chime in.

Kasumi

Honda NSR's have noticably high performance but i dont think the 250 is in the 80bhp range - this was left for the 400's also during the same era. Things to watch out for on the NSR are that due to low seat height and being track orinetated, steering is not very easy at slow speed. Just be careful when cornering at slow speed - the bike may feel like it wants to fall over. When you are going along though they stick to the road fantastic and are very stable in corners. Prepare for greater than GS performance though.

The Isle of Man TT has that lightweight class.  It seems that the 2 stroke 125 competed against the 400 four strokers.  But you would know better than I, Kasumi, since we value the air be breath enough to make 2 strokes outlaw here in Los Ustados Unidos.

You guys have been really great!!!
Jake D. I contacted Cal and he gave me some great advise that put me a bit more at ease about riding in a foreign country.
Kasumi. Thanks for the info on the bike handling. I'd hate to pay for damages.
Thank you again

PS If anybody else have any input. I'd really appreciate it. I'd like to know everything and anything about the bike(NSR 150-250cc) and riding in a foreign country. Hell. Ya'll can just tell ya'll's story about your ride in another country good and bad.
