AWESOME!

A little nervous making slow turns, because the stock clipons come soooooooo close to the tank.  But I think that's because of my method.

Also, for some reason, I *think* the R6 is a little easier in the turns???  I'm not positive yet...  It might just be the fact that I can finally ride her.

But I will say this....  The GS is DEFINITELY more forgiving.  You make a mistake on the GS, you're still up.  You make a mistake on a bike like the R6, you can feel something different in how the bike handles or rides.

The GS is 100% a fantastic starter bike and commuter.

A big +1 on this. I found out VERY quickly how much more forgiving the GS is over the SVS, and I imagine the SVS is a heckuva lot more forgiving than the R6!  :thumb: I"m glad to hear you're taking your time getting to know your new baby!  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

In the last two days, when I wasn't working or being in class at night, I've riden the R6 for a grand total of 74.7 miles.

I think im having the same unsolvable problem as you An.

When your just setting off and say you've had to back it out of the garage or whatever you have it on full lock and your trying to urge it to the street? You can't get your hand around the grip and you find yourself twisting the throttle with just ur 4 fingers and keeping your thumb out the way?

Yea, if thats what trouble your having, i havn't found a solution yet. LOL

Sports bikes also feel like they wana fall over in slow speed manovering. And doing a U turn in the road is a no no without putting your feet down.

Exactly...  to everything...  I can't do a u-turn AT ALL.

I don't find that the bike wants to fall over in low speed turns...  I find that it wants to straighten up... :dunno_white:  I feel that I have to push even harder to get it to turn...  Of course, this could be the wider tire...  180 I think?!?!?

with more practice you can do U-turns just fine on a sport bike without putting your foot down. You just have to lean it over a bit more and work the clutch more. The R6 should feel heavier to turn or like it wants to straighten up probably due to the rear tire.

kasumi-maybe yours feels like it wants to fall in because either a) your tires are squared off a bit and will feel like they're falling in when they come across the squared edge, or b) your tire profile is very pointy. The Pilot Power tires are very pointy-good for the track.

I have a brand new set of tyres less than a thousand miles at the moment. Dunlap Sportmax D208's they are extremely grippy as they are almost track type, Ultimate high peformance street in their range or summin, however they don't last long at all. Next time i change tyre i will probably go to some Metzlers or Pirellis' just to try. I think after what An said my slow speeding feeling like its going to fall over is like An said its hard to make it lean in so its upright more and more wobbly. I really want to get into an open space and just practice doing tight U turns and slow speeds stuff but theres no where around here to do it and i don't wana drop the bike hehe.

This is how I feel about practicing u-turns.
