Sorry Guys

I hope I'm putting this in the right forum, it's been awhile.

Let me start by saying I am super sorry for what was said under my account.  Let me get this story out of the way, then maybe it will clear some things up.

My buddy (old college roomate) calls me this morning, haven't talked to him in awhile, and we shoot the crap for like 30 minutes, whatever, and at the end he tells me he played a prank on me.  I was a little confused because nothing has happened to me.
He tells me he pissed off some friends.  Still confused.
Then he asks me if I remember being part of a motorcycle website.  I told him I used to look at a lot of websites back in school when I was really new to mechanic'ing and all, but I don't really need the help anymore, so I haven't used one in awhile.
Then he asks me if I remember GSTwin.com      I was like yeah, I remember it.  I was into it like 4 or 5 years ago (neat site) but I haven't been through in a long time.
He says oh, I thought you were still kinda into it.  I posted your pic you emailed me of your clone project and wrote this message, and everybody got super pissed.

After he said that my stomach almost came out of my mouth.  I told him to please tell me he was joking and that he hadn't posted the pic of my baby, and he was like yeah, and everybody hated it.

So this morning I went to the website and read what he posted (again, I'm super sorry) and some of the stuff people replied (pretty harsh) and now here I am.

He said he found one of my old notebooks and it had my account info written in it.  It's been so long since I've logged in I had to ask him for my account info because I forgot it.

That said, I hope that clears some things up.  He's not a duck, he just does duck stuff and plays pranks and I guess he thought that you guys knew me or something and this would be a good prank.  Obviously there was some major gaps in his thinking.

So, that is why I have such a random post that wasn't all that nice.  I'm sorry I haven't kept up more guys, just super busy (school and all of my jobs).

And I guess I am asking the moderators (I hope that's right) to help here.  Can you please take off (I'm not sure how) the post that he made?  After I get done typing this I will try myself again.

And please please please please take my photo down.  That really bothers me.  The bike was a neat project that I did because I liked the look of a tele, but didn't have the money to afford one (but did have some time and some talents with my imagination).  I will say it has been a pretty neat bike because it fools so many people that see it, and then I tell them and they are like wow, and it always starts a conversation.  I had no idea what I did with it would have me meeting so many people.

Anyway, the bike was done for me, but me, and was never meant to be put up for other people to discuss.  I can't explain how uncomfortable I am right now thinking about my photo being up.  And noone really liked it anyway, so it shouldn't hurt to get rid of the photo.

I'm really sorry guys, he didn't mean any harm, just being a jackass (as all of us have friends that are like that).  I hope this apology is accepted and this makes up for what was said.
On a side note it looks like the website has really grown, that's cool.  Like I said, it's been awhile since I've been through.
Sorry for the inconvenience.  I'll punch him for everyone when I go home for christmas.

Jared

He's not a duck,
Yes he is. Anyone who takes someone's password information and posts as "your friend" did is a complete duck.

The post is in the Tard Farm. It will eventually get pruned. Right now, it can sit there as a reminder to protect your password and personal information from purported friends.

Actually, I think everyone was pretty kind. I don't think anyone was in the least bit harsh (and I'm the first to jump on those who are harsh toward others).

Dude, you need to find new friends. I can't list even one person among my friends who would do something as disrespectful to someone they called a friend. However, I'm sure the admins will find it in their hearts to forgive you. ;)

How about posting up one of your "friend's" passwords so that we can go visit one of HIS sites and post in his honour? Just kidding! Disclaimer: we at GSTwin neither encourage nor condone any unethical and duck-like behaviour.  :thumb:)

Apology accepted, sounds like it's not your fault at all.  Thanks for clearing that up though.  To be honest, I don't think it's that everyone hated your bike, it was the attitude that your 'friend' had when he posted.

It's always good to see the enginuity of others in motorcycles.  Regardless of my opinion of looks, I will always appreciate the hard work that went into it.  If it had been you that posted the pic and just said "This is what I did and how I did it.  What do you guys think?"  I would have said "hey that looks like good work, nice job" or said nothing at all and I'm sure you would have gotten quite a few compliments.

You can go into your post and "modify" it and remove the pictures, but i think you should leave them. People were just being critical because they were pissed off.

He said he found one of my old notebooks and it had my account info written in it.  It's been so long since I've logged in I had to ask him for my account info because I forgot it.

I just compared the IP used to post the original msg by the "friend" and the IP Jared used to post this thread. What I find rather fascinating is that Jared's "friend" posted using the very same IP that Jared uses to log on. It sounds as though Jared's friend is in another town, and if this friend posted the thread in question, he had to have done it from Jared's computer. So did he break into your home, and use your computer to post, Jared?   :dunno_white:
