So as of 12/15 I am officially a Graduate Vocational Nurse(GVN) on my way to be a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). Going to take my state test in January. So excited, now I can make some real money. I just wanted to post some good news.

 

Whats an LVN? In PA we have LPNS (Licenced Practical Nurse ) and RN (Registered Nurse) As well as CNAs Certified nurses aide


IS it diff. by state?

According to wiki LVN is just what LPNs are called in California and Texas. 

Anyway, congratulations.  My mom's an RN, and I've often thought of becoming a nurse myself.  I have great respect for all varieties of nurses and the how they take care of all of us.

When I was in the hospital for the collapsed lung, the only thing that made my stay bearable were the cute female nurses.

Maybe the girl patients will appreciate you more

nurses make BANK! My sister is an ER nurse and she made $65k/yr starting (a few years ago) ...works 3 days a week 12hr shifts.

There's a HUGE demand for nurses too.

Pablo thats funny because nurses over here get paid jack all. I spose in the Private sector they would get paid alot more though - i know doctors get paid rediculous amounts for doing private healthcare over NHS.

Ya they make pretty good money.  A dialysis center here in town pays about 60k a year when you are an RN.  And they give you 6000 grand a year for school.

Yeah I plan to start RN school prob in another year if I get accepted. I want to do it before I am 24.

its nice to know another bro nurse...yup...RNs make decent money.....can choose to work wherever....a lot of areas of specialties......f/t mostly 3 days a week....per diem p/t pays awesome.....sign on bonuses....importantly help people  ( and doctors   )....
