I was riding today and saw another 01 GS on Page Mill Road and I waved.  They were riding two up with another bike (cruiser with two up allso).  Was wondering if it was anyone here?

Busy day for GSes up the hill.  I was riding la honda/skyline around there and saw another older style gs at four corners and parked next to another at scuderia downtown stopping on the way home.  Did you see the nasty rider down on la honda just west of pesdadero rd?  Someone bit it hard on a blue svs, looked like a vehicle collision in the middle of the first s curve going into the redwoods along the creek.

I was there when the guy bit it (at four corners).  Four fire trucks and two Sherrifs dept. vehicles responded.

Wish it was the wife and I, but it twas not. I'm searching the BARF database for GS's. Found one "GSdelGato", hope to hear from him on this forum soon.

Did you have a good ride this weekend? How was it up there? The weather?

Weather was nice and cool along the coast (rode 280->1->84->Alice's on the way up).  Decent in the mountains, warm but not overly hot.  Back down in the foothills and south bay it was pretty opressive, I was sweltering in leather jacket and draggin jeans.

Lots of bikes up at 4 corners, a few impressive customs and usual lot of squids - the fire department and cops looked busy all day.  There were about 15 MH900es (the retro styled racy monster - pretty cool looking) gathered at 4 corners, rode back down skyline to 92 with one of them (and suprisingly managed to keep up, though I wasn't trying to).

I'll welcome some cooler weather (last weekend was nice) and hopefully the water snakes will stay away for a while longer.

Wonder if the MH900's had a meet that day.

What are 'water snakes'?

And, do you find going North on Hwy1 blustery vs. going South? I went North on 1 after Bonnie Doon to Gazo's Creek and was just windbeaten, a couple weekends ago.

Yeah, they were having a little get together at that restaraunt across from alice's (forget the name).  Those guys get together at Q cafe in Palo Alto (Alma just off Embarcadero) pretty frequently too, I think they club race them in a series, but forgot to ask.

Water snakes are the little rivulets of water that form about halfway through lots of the curves in the santa cruz mountains during the fall/winter.  Many of the curves block off small streams so the stream continues across the pavement and can be a real eye opener if you're committed to a long, fast corner and don't see it in the shadows (e.g.: the backside of 9).

I don't ride 1 as far south as Bonny Doon that often (usually take 9, empire grade, or soquel san jose down to santa cruz) but the coast can get pretty windy.  Not nearly as bad as the bay bridge at night on a windy day (been blown almost into the next lane several times on that coming back home to the city).  Just make sure to wear warm clothes (lots of layers, good long underwear), a little cold can do a job on your reflexes and attention.
