Ok, I've rejeted the bike...thanx srinath for the kit, or most of it.
I'm running a wileyco, and a lunchbox, 150main,65mids and 20pilots, 3washers under the needle(about 1.5mm).
Man what a difference! She hauls now, much cleaner power!
Was easy as pie, whole process to 2hrs tops. If you haven't rejetted your bike,do it!
Now for a question, at 1/4 throttle, just kinda at cruise there is a small surgey feeling, not huge but its there. As soon as I'm out of that throttle range its gone, no hesitation any place. And at that 1/4 throttle every now and then I've got a slight spit through the carb. All this leads me to think the pilot circuit is lean. I'm 3 turns out on the idle mixture screws.
Now as those screws turn in it richens the mixture right? Sealing of air? Or does it seal of fuel? Which one?
Wouldn't be the floats or the needles or the mains, she's fine there. Just at idle, cold with almost no choke, she'll spit add choke, stops. And then surgey at 1/4 throttle. Air screws?
What ya think?
If it comes out of your body you shouldn't be afraid to hold it in your hand! :o

If it dies when you give it choke when cold, then it is to rich on idle. Choke is very good tool to see if it is rich or lean. At the wanted throtle and/or revs just pop the choke. If the bikes bogs down, it was too rich, if it becomes more alive then it is too lean. Normaly you shoul feel something but nothing too harsh.

Bike should start fine when fully warmed up as in you ride for 1/2 hour, shut it off and immediately restart and it should without choke. Warm starts could need choke, cold starts should need choke. Now yours spits and what is stops stops spitting or stops as in dies.
1/4 throttle seems high to be pilots. Pilots are typically 1/8th and under. Like taking off from a light without the thing screaming. You are needle range. You got 3 washers in the thing already. Maybe check floats I guess.
Air screws out = richer. In is leaner. That may richen it just enough for your 1/4 throttle but dont open it to fix that problem. You'd just end up creating another one at idle.
Cool.
Srinath.

She's spitn at idle when cold, but its weird not on every cycle...like spit, 20 seconds go by,spit 8 seconds..if I add some choke, that stops.
Now when rolling, its the same frequency or less, but I'm feeling the surge, its just a slight surge. I haven't tried adding choke then. Srinath, I used thinner washers then what you sent, they are like 1/2 the thickness of yours but I've got 3 in each one...

Ok, update... I set the mixture screws to 3.5 turns out...got better, but not perfect. Its worse when its cold, better as it heats. If I add a lil choke it gets better. But the rest of the throttle range is great!!!

Ok, just a edit.
I've adjusted the vavles, left hand exhaust was tight, like the vavle was open all the time tight! And the right intake was loose.
She's set to spec and it fires right up when cold outside, no problems! That little surgey feeling is gone at 1/8 throttle.
I did put in 22.5 pilots but she's not acting rich there so I'll just leave em.

Thanx for all who helped!

Sorry to Hijack this thread but I have a question ....
I'm already runnin the DJ stg.1  jet kit in mine..  ( deont exactly remember my settings but thats unimportant for now)....
I'm currently running a k&n drop in and the V&H exhaust...'
I'm switching out the drop in and putting in k&n pods.. as soon as they come in..   now I'm still trying to figure out what jet settings to use as i'm still going to have the DJ needles installed... I've read that the DJ needles are smaller than the factory ones, so I dont need to go as large on the mains...
so would it be better to go down a size of two if i'm running the DJ kit ??  say 145-147 , 65, 20 ????

With DJ needles, all the numbers he posted are not useable. you need stock needles to use any of the set formulae. 150 or 147.5 are for stock needles and K&N and pipe etc.
Cool.
