just got sears to put new tires on my truck (goodyear wrangler silentarmors, i like them a lot)

but on the ride home they felt a touch overinflated. sure enough, i get home, wait a few hours, and check them, and they are at 45psi.

remember - check your tire pressure. ESPECIALLY if somebody else has been screwing with your tires.

yeah I had the same thing happen to me at discount tire one time. It was like 45psi too. I went to get that "free flat fix" but they said they couldn't do it and wanted to charge me 70+ bucks for another tire. Bump that. Went to this little tire shop and 5 bucks fixed it.

I had that trouble at a father/son shop not far from where I live. The son inflated the front tires to 50psi saying that would help about cupping. The cupping was actually due to bad ball joints. After nearly jarring the dash out from minor bumps in the road I lowered the pressure to 35.

The shop I go to now for auto tires is anal about the details. He'll go through the trouble to take a test drive and then check the tread to see if the tires are inflated properly. He's also the cheapest guy around, even beating out Walmart.

When someone mounts new tires for you, always check that they are the right ones.

Several years ago, Sears mounted 3 of the right size and a larger one on the front, I noticed from the scrubbing during tight turns.

I ordered a BT45 OEM sized rear for the GS at a shop and had them install it during a major maintenance.  I got home and found out that they didn't install the size that I had ordered.
