I'll do that.  So far the best single thing is the auto cancel turn signals.

I rode my neighbor's '94 Sportster a few times recently and I find the self-canceling turn signals annoying.  They turn off when I feel they shouldn't.  I have to pay more attention to them with this feature.

That's because you haven't read the owner's manual. :icon_razz:

To extend the flash time just hold the button in.  The timer doesn't start until the button is released. :o

I didn't know that either untill just reading it. :icon_rolleyes:

Thanks for jogging my curiosity.

Ya know back in the day a lump of coal meant you had heat on a cold winter's night.  It was considered a good thing.  I'll take your lump of coal any day......he he he   :thumb:

What kid wants a lump of coal though? Thats even worse than a polo cardigan sweater.

Nice bike, Great family.
I've been looking at Sporters myself.
I think I would enjoy the ride better with my knees a bit straighter
than they are on the GS.
I'm not into gofast-leanhard riding anyway, so any performance loss wouldn't
be noticed by me.

Your right, the GS is for the young.  Jockey style seat position with weight forward.

Like you, I'm more comfortable in the upright cruiser seat position.  It takes the weight off my wrists.

I'll take a harder look at one.
I did put a set of risers on my GS and they helped a bunch.
Now, I'm thinking of doing a conversion to naked so I can put a set of case guards on. They would be good for mounting Highway pegs to.

Don't know if I could agree there... I'm right around 6'2", and the position of the pegs on my old Sportster (cafe 1200) wasn't far enough to be comfortable, but just sporty enough to make me wish it was sportier. With proper riding form, I'd say clubmans and rearsets (which my GS now has  O0) are way more comfortable than any sportster, maybe any HD period.

Still, if you like that kind of thing, it's a really great bike. Hope you enjoy yours to the fullest.

Flame on!

anyone have pics of GS to cruiser modifications?

PuddleJumper

GS cruiser? Hmmmm.
I hadn't really thought of it that way.
Dang it! now I want a cruiser too.
I might just try figuring out how to put highway pegs on my F.
I bet that would look funky.

PS. I really like the looks of the Cobalt blue Sportsters.
Especially with the matching hard bags and the touring seat w/backrest.
