I usually hand signal almost all the time even though I have turning signals because mine are a lot lower profile than the hideous stock ones and in the day time not very easily recognized.  but when I ride with other riders I will signal then make a turn and they will pass me and look at me like WTF why did you turn.. and this actually irritates me because I am like I put the signal up for a right hand turn and they will go I didnt see your turn signal because they are kinda hidden I said I put my hand up dude what more do you want.

and even the riders dont know the symbols chances are 95% of motorist dont know them either. kinda scary if you ask me and makes me wonder when Im going to get clobbered because of this.

ehh i dont use hand signals unless my equipment is either not easily seen, or non functional. that aside for those who dont know, hand straight out ( to left) is "turning left",
hand out and up is turn right
and hand out and down is stopping, now when i say hand out im meaning hand AND forearm

yeah, most drivers dont know the signals, or if they do, they are mocking you for using them.

if your turn signals arent visible enough you should consider replacing the stock ones. Thats the main reason I kept my stock ones. I'd rather be seen than be vain.

Im probably gana get bashed for this but.. i don't generally use my signals unless im changing lanes in front of a cage. signalings nice so the cage know what your going to do, my problem is they don't auto cancel. Then your driving down the road with the fucker flashing and thats probably more dangerous then not signaling. I hear harleys have "auto cancel" timers? Ive been wanting to look into that... but with all the snow and no riding i loose motivation to fiddle with Blu.

I just randomly push to cancel while I"m riding.

I used to have to think to do it, but now its just habit.

Hipocracy.... becoming more acceptable with the more power you think you have.

Because drivers don't know hand signals, when I do use my left arm to signal a right turn, they back off real warily like.  :icon_mrgreen:

Pablo - what signal does a track instructor use to get you to follow his lines?

On Doc Wong rides, when I'm the sweep, I tap the back of my helmet, to tell the guy I just passed to follow me, and/or follow me/watch my lines.

When I see someone driving around with the signal on I'm thinking,"can't you see the indicator flashing?" I stay away from cars that do that, they aren't paying attention!
If it comes out of your body you shouldn't be afraid to hold it in your hand! :o

Susuki_Jah

even if I had the stock flashers I dont beleive people would see them.
you can see my signals I mean that is if you are paying attention  but most arent looking in that direction anyways. I get cars attention sometimes by swaying the bike in the lane a little or reving the engine if I think they arent paying attention. One awesome thing about my bike is the vance & hines exhuast is LOUD very very loud I dont even think it has any packing in it anymore if it every did in the first place. if you rev the bike with no hearing protection it will rattle your ear drums and hurt. this is to my advantage because even a mile down the road you can hear my bike.  when I took drivers ED I had to learn those hand signals also on my driving test I had to know them...  Motorist should learn motorcycle laws aswell .

I always randomly push cancel, and when I'm stopped at a light, I'll push down to make sure I'm in first at least 5 times.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

I usually do have to push down 5 time to get it in first

do the older models have a push button???
on my 04 its a switch
move it 1 click to the left and it turns the left signal on, move it 1/2 click to the right it turns off.
vice versa for the right. its VERY sensitive and with my winter gloves on  i have to look at the turn indicator lamp to make sure its turned off. a quarter of the time it will be signaling in the opposite direction.

if you all enjoy riding around "pushing"?  the cancel button then fine. but id rather be looking for cage and enjoying the ride.

yea my 91 you push it in and you have to push it a few times to get it to stop. I just replaced the bulb in my indicator on the dash so it helps remind me.
