Life isn't fair.

So what if someone got a brand new R6?

I take pride in being an underdog and earning everything I have. I'm sure I'm missing out, but a little struggle builds character. Right? Doesn't it? Hello?

My whole point isn't that they got a brand new R6...  I coud care less.

My point is that they won't have total respect for anything while on the bike (whether it be the bike, himself, other people, or police).  Parents should teach their kids resposibility like they did in the past.  Nowadays, responsibility amoung the younger generation seems like a lost concept.

I used to work with this kid whose dad owned a car dealership (one of those small "used" ones...).  His dad came across a corvette (which the kid liked so much).  The dad gave the corvette to the kid, BUT ON ONE CONDITION...  if he ever got a ticket, the corvette would be gone.  If got a ticket the second month of ownership I think.  Dad took it away.

THIS is the kind of parenting that I applaud.  Let kids enjoy themselves, but also monitor them.  I feel sorry that the kid lost the corvette, but he also deserved to lose it.

The 16 yo kid that got the brand new R6 50th anniversary edition is always saying stuff like:
run from the police if you can
stunting on the roads is fun
I'd rather die tomorrow on my bike, than live a long life
etc...

I'm fed up with all these kids being irresponsible for their actions.  And I blame the parents mostly.  I work in retail, and I've gotten a pretty good sense of what the previous generation is like.  Sure, there are still genuine, honest people who still have morals and still teach their kids right and wrong.

But I sense that a largre portion of older people have "adapted", and now they don't care about other people, only themselves.  More and more are getting the biggest SUV's but not paying attention on the road.  More and more and getting (or have) cell phones and use the phones WHILE talking to a person who is RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM.  More and more parents come in, and their kids are as destructive as can be, but the parents don't say anything (we've had to ask two families to leave because the parents weren't controlling the children).

my kid will learn respect how I learned respect for my father. he wooped the living sh*t out of me if I did anything wrong or was disrespectfull. made me one heck of a man! and I thank him for it every day.  and to this day I have yet to take a break from working since I was 14.

you said he has a job, so how do you know he isn't payin for it?  he could make payments, to his parents, or yamaha.  if he was makin $6 an hour an worked 25 hours a week, thats $150.  in reality, what else does the kid have to buy?  he don't got no rent to pay, im sure his parents are buying his clothes, an food, does that piss you off too?  Im 26 an my mom still buys me a pair of jeans every 3 or 4 months :flipoff:

word to that man... I dont ask for stuff and mom still hooks me up. its a mom thing I guess.

I know I didnt buy a motorcycle when I was 16 but I spent about 10g's total on music equipment in just a few years. all from working my tail off ! and ofcourse when min wage was 4$ and some odd cents I was making 7.50 with my best friend running a local dominics of NY. its all about your ambition and your stamina in the job place.

and think about it .. a used car goes for what these days?   around 10k for a half decent one a safe one for a kid..  and I know a lot of parents that bought their kids cars for these prices (mine didnt but still)   they want to know their kids are safe and somtimes its cheeper to just buy a car of that stature. now what if this kid was like how about I get crappy car and instead of spending all the money on a car can yall help me out with a motorcycle payment or down payment? i mean motorcycles are pretty cheep compared to a new car. so it really wasnt that big of deal in my eyes if it was givin to him. Im not going to lie If I have the money I will buy my kids nice things.

An, your whole argument and "problem with this kid" is based on speculations and assumptions.

I think I heard somewhere that sometimes by making assumptions; you make an ass of yourself instead.

that's exactly what you're doing.

you have no idea how this kid paid for the bike. no idea if it were in full, half, or nothing at all. What you go ahead & do anyways, is ASSUME that the kid has no respect for the bike, other motorists, the police, or maybe even himself... I think that's a helluva lot to assume, and a completly pointless argument if you've got absolutly no evidence.

You listed the mods he has done and is planning to do. I'll say again; those look like some pretty legit mods. Expensive; yes, but probably why he's only performed a few of them. I didnt see chrome listed anywhere on those mods; I didnt see anything like Angel or Demon eyes listed there( :icon_rolleyes:); I see some pretty cool mods.

I'm finding it hard to see the point of this; aside from your jealously.

If your argument is how this kid aquired all his stuff, and that he has no respect for anyone or anything; then STFU because you have NO argument.

.... oh wait; I think I get it.....  You're all upset because you went & bought an R6 to look cool and be cool on, but for some reason you still havent gotten laid yet!

Your panties are all bunched up because this kid is your IDOL, and he's only 16!!!!

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Please. Maybe An's jealousy (and that's often what it is) is unfounded, but there's a lot of fingerpointing in his direction. Of course, nobody in here has ever experienced anything like that, so we're all good with the fingerpointing. Don't hurt yourselves when you fall off those high-horses.

Theres a term called boundary issues, could be called holes in your boundary, where ur having problems with other people basically over things that are none of your business, or you let people f with you within your own business where they  have no business being.

it's none of your business about that kid and his bike, his parents, his lawlessness, his money, their money, what they give him, etc.

Stop whining otherwise you come off like a whiny, clingy loser.

I was very good at falling off my high horse, but I've gotten much better since I got him lowered!  :thumb: As for An, he completely understands that right after moi, everything here is his fault. Once we become one with our karma, it doesn't bother us so much. ;)
