this is so f%&ked up.

QuoteThe most common state police tactic is to accuse a motorcyclist of a felony, initiate the seizure proceeding, then drop the charges. This allows police get to keep the sport bike without the effort of a court battle or the danger of a not guilty verdict. Even an innocent motorcyclist will think twice about fighting an an unjust seizure since the felony charges carry jail time and a permanent black mark on more than just the driving record

I agree with FEAREDGS500...

BUT...  I think what's bugging Pablo (and me) is that cops can now use the excuse "HE RAN FROM ME" to get some payback.

Innocent riders face this risk as well.

A cop can wrongfully accuse you of things much worse than running.  They have alot more power than you might think.  It all comes down to how much money you've got to fight the case, and what the public opinion is regarding your socioeconomic background, ethnicity, attitude, education, and personality.

most cops are riders themselves . I have been pulled more than a few times for exceeding the speed limit and not just by a little bit. They don't write me a ticket though because I stop and follow everything they say to me (i have a concealed weapons license so they go crazy on me at first, and have to have two cops stop me) then I usually get a lecture and im always honest and then we get to talking about rides and they usually tell me how much they love mine and what ive done with it and thats it. Ofcourse when I open my wallet my military ID happens to be on top ;) so I usually get the special treatment lol.  But I did get a ticket for no inspection in the city, oh well i havn't had one since 2005.  I would have to say that most cops are really cool just play it cool and take what you deserve and things will be better.  because you may outrun the cop but you cant outrun the RADIO!

when i read this i was kinda pissed. one time when i was driving in my car one of the street lights where out  the light was flashing red as it does when its out, that light was one of the ones that had photo informent so as i went across it took my picture, a few weeks later the ticket came in the mail i tried my best to fight the darn thing but no luck they had no record of that light being out or even bieng fixed. didnt they notice when they sent out all the tickets something was up? :cookoo: so i agree with pablo this crap does suck but if you do run from a cop you should get something but not this.

dude that sux!  just goes to show how the world is not benefiting from some things being automated. and you probly had to deal with some mean fat chick at the courthouse who gets paid way to much to sit there and talk to you while you get screwed.
