http://www.rusteco.com/auto.htm

they quoted me 245 dollars for them to take out the liner I effed up, and fix. No paint lost. Sounds like a good deal!

Por-15. I followed all the instructions but it just didn't bond to the surface, despite all my air drying I'm guessing I had a bit of moisture in it, though shrinath says that wouldn't do it. THe tank had a little surface rust in one place, barely anything, now after por 15 I have a completely dark red rust over eveyrhting in the tank. Crazy stuff.

Ouch. OK I don't know how to remove Por15.I Would get in touch wth Por15 and tell them that you done everything to the T and the Liner didn't do what it was suppose to.They may give you instructions on how  to remove it and send you a replacement kit.IF you can get the Liner out down to Bare metal I wouldn't worry too much with slight Surface rust at all.IF you can get the Liner out go to Auto Zone and Buy a Quart or two of Evaporust and slosh that around in the tank for several days.It eats all traces of rust down to Bare metal and is Non Toxic and Reuseable. You will have to flush it out to get the Evapo rust out but if you are Quick you can rinse well with Water (Hotter the Better) and Do aFinal Rinse with Rubbing Alcohol (91%) or Denatured Alcohol to Displace any Moisture.Let it Air Dry near a heat Source (Not by an Open Flame) usually by a Duct or on top of a Radiator,Mildly burning Wood Stove (with the Draft Closed) or in a Car in the Sun with the Windows rolled up so it will get Hot.After you get it dried out coat the Inside with a Good 2 Stroke Oil or Seafoam.Just Suggestions I know if it were me in that predicament I will try a few Simple low cost things before going thru sending the tank to them and risk it getting Damaged in Shipment.

POR 15 says to use stripper, however ... full strength POR has such a thick coating, it will puff up to like 100 times its size and make it a pain to get out. then it will dry and re adhere. Wonder how Rusteco will do it. POR is just like paint, only harder and tougher.
Cool.
