"The Jardine does indeed fit the 2006 as mine is a 2005 GS500F " i have an 06, and it works perfectly, it sounds nice enough that people on the highway know ur their, and if u redline it, it sounds prety  loud (atleast loud enough for my friends to hear it from a good distance). defenetly one of the best upgrades for this bike

Nick?  We didn't forget about your little tantrum.

They says that this fits the 01 GS500. Anyone want to take a shot on how that works?

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

galahs: possibly the most thorough comparison I've seen of stock vs. modified yet! Great video / tech package!

I got my Jardine exhaust in December for my '06...F*&%ING AMAZING! Best $350 I've spent. I like the "not painted black" look a lot. Took me about 45 minutes to install it...I'm sure you could do it in less than 30 if you wanted...no problems with fits and clearances. I was concerned with the rear brake rotor pretty close to the can but with some adjustment it was perfect. The first thing I noticed once I started it was how much it sounded like a Ducati. I was at my parents house (heated garage is nice) and my mom was inside and said to me later that night "that bike sounds like a monster!" I was smiling ear to ear. And when you're cruising and roll off the throttle it gurgles and pops...so sweet  :icon_mrgreen: Very nice job with the sound clips. :thumb:

That gurgle and pop maybe be an indicator that your running lean. Do a plug chop and see. If so rejet it, it'll thank you with a better ride!
If it comes out of your body you shouldn't be afraid to hold it in your hand! :o

dgyver

All bikes can/will pop on decel, even stock factory...you cannot normally hear it with a restictive exhaust. It is the unburnt gas igniting in the exhaust. You can really hear it when chopping the throttle from a high rpm.
Common sense in not very common.

rob1bike

Oh yeah your 100% correct, but changes from leaned out to correct settings alter that pop or gurgle some. I don't buy into being able to just bolt on a aftermarket pipe, that frows better than stock and not have to touch the carbs.....especially when they are already lean to start with.

My DRZ does that, sometimes make a really big pop noise if I roll off quickly. Sounds odd sometimes.

My bike was jetted at the time of the exhaust test  :thumb:

A low restriction exhaust + air intakes often cause exhaust pops during rapid de acceleration.

FearedGS500

well ... that compersion ... was kinda off to me .. the jardin sounds like my stock exuast .. one day .. i'll post a clip up :)

thanks for the sound clips galahs  :thumb:

Popping when off the throttle = normal, although as mentioned above, could also indicate leaner than ideal. +1

I agree that the stainless pipe looks amazingly good. I guess it depends on what kind of color scheme you're going for. I'm in the process of repainting my stock headers to match my new rear pipe... flat black, of course! I wish I had a nice stainless header set though... SS FTW!!!
