so i finally put my truck in my back yard today so i can finally get everything fixed . I will start off by saying i have an 86 isuzu trooper with 201,987 miles on it. the things that need fixxen are the valves are out of adjustment the egr valve is out the carb stopped running off of both sides only one jet works good on gas but a pain when trying to go past 65mph. leaks, my valve cover leaks the rear main seal leaks the front cam shaft seal leaks and something else leaks im not sure what it is yet. all the shocks and ball joints are worn and the driverside cv boot is torn and leaking and since its a 4wd thats going to be a pain in the @$$. im not sure what im going to fix at this time but i wanna do it all plus put a 3inch lift on it and paint it.btw im bord so thats why i posted this anyone ever done this before. working on my truck made me remeber how much i dont miss working in an auto shop anymore .

true i do end up with the same truck but seeing i dont have the money up front to buy one and cant get credit anywhere(long story) i just gave up, plus im not to happy with the new cars coming out latley. and as far as work goes its cake for me and parts are nothing since i still get hook ups at my old job and paint is cheap since the painter at my new job will do it for free the only thing that i have to buy is the lift. this truck has been real good to me since i got it my brother who gave it to me did all this crap to it. and i am stuck with it, even with all those problems i still drove the truck hard and it drove good till i took it up to the mountains then to take my women home then on the way back is when the engine started acting up other than that the engine can last forever if i take care of it. plus i have alot of dreams for my cars and the one i had for my 92 t-bird sc got to much for me when i broke the crankdhaft and destroyed the supercharger, so i got rid of it sad to see it go but it became to much for my little mechanic skills at the time but now i can do what ever i need done so i really dont want this dream to get tossed away like my other one.

What kind of lift are you going to do? The calmini torsion bars and shackles or going all out with the hockey pucks?

I've had a few troopers... loved them... But they were the 2.6 versions...

im going calmini 3inch sus lift, and i love them as well.

Calmini makes some good stuff, torsen bars and the "super shackles"

I don't care what anybody says, when there's 6 inches of fresh snow on the road... People will sit in their new camry/accord along side the road and look at your trooper with envy...

Were you one of the fortunate who got the factory locker in the rear? Or the factory softride suspension with the 31's?

no i wasnt but it does have 31s now with soem rock crawler rims. and yeah they do make some good stuff. and when im done with the engine im going to put in a performance cam and a full exhaust with eaders and all, at work im having our welder make me a roof rack that will hol dall my gear plus hold some off road lights

Stay away from the pacesetter header... crap! Yeah it was cheap to buy but hell, you get what you pay for. I ended up cutting the collector off and making one for it. Got tired of putting new gasgets on it monthly... even the soft metal ones were didn't work out...

They have alot of good stuff for Isuzus.  I have a 2000 rodeo and I got the 3" calmini lift kit and the front control arms it came with were so messed up.

Independent 4x usually has the best deals around for lifts and stuff like that.
