This is my 1974 Kawasaki G5

I just added this movie clip of my boss riding it in our shop today

http://jjvphotography.com/movies/kawag5100.mov

picked this up from a guy who has owned this new since he was a kid.   he had a lot of ties to it, also questioned me about my motives with the bike. he wanted to make sure it was going to a good home to someone who would take care of it and fix it up.

I gotta replace a few minor things on the bike but other than that it runs GREAT! definatly fun little 2 cycle motorcycle.

99cc motor... he also gave me a complete shop manual with it! printed in 74.

im going to take it with me to the airforce base tomorrow. all the guys want to check it out and help me clean it up and fix whatever needs fixing.

I will be riding it tomorrow as well and will keep everyone updated on how it is.

ive been waiting for a vintage bike like this for years!!!

Hey I had one of those but it was Worn out to the Point that the top of the Piston was Erroded so bad that the Top ring was Showing with the Piston in the Bore. :o Having No Compression what so ever I had the Dumb Neighbor Boys Pushing me up and down the Road for Hours on end trying to get it started.  They Actually Believed me when I said it would Start in a little while.  At that time I weighed close to 300lbs and Both of them would weighed in at 100lbs if you throwed them in the Creek and Pulled them out. :laugh:I believe mine was a 73.Kinda wish I had it back in one piece sice it's now the Age of the Internet and its easier to find parts now.

Well I think you will be in luck on the Motor parts since the KE100 was the Same Bike up to the Late 90's.They may actually still make the KE100 but I don't think they do since it is a 2 Stroke. They may still be Offered in Other Countries.I think the Body Parts Probably will work off of the G3 and the Ealy KE100's.I may have a Topend Gasket Set and a few other Misc. Odds and Ends for it but may take a While for me to Dig them out.I'll look and see If I havea Dealer Set up and Prep Manual too. :thumb:

luckely I have a complete shop manual for the bike. do you figure on the clutch cable working off a KE100 on the 74 G5100?  Ive gotta check into that today. I think as far as clutch cable goes I can get the one that it fit to length.  there is a few things that were ghetto rigged on the bike I dont like. I will probly end up rebuilding the entire thing.

thanks for all the input so far it helps
