"EVERYONE WHO GOES TO DEALS GAP------PLEASE READ THIS-----I'M TRYING TO HELP YOU ALL OUT"

posted by a State Trooper:

"Hey, just to give you a heads up for next season----we have a new captain in the knoxville district which covers blount county------ he has already told us that we will put a stop to the "race track driving" up on the dragon this year------so far what they have said is that the speed limit is 30mph and "ANYONE" caught going 50mph and up will be charged with reckless driving and will be jailed and their bike/car will be impounded--- --I am telling you this because i am trying to put the word out to everyone i know----or to people who know people that go up there-----I don't want to have to take people to jail for this---however I have bills to pay and I kind of like having a job---so never the less I have to do what i am told to do-----so the way i see it is that if killboy.com knows and you know and dealsgap.com knows and whoever else can find out can pass this along---it will benefit everybody--- -----feel free to copy and past this and let everyone know-------if you get caught up there it is only your fault because i am trying to pass the word along for everybody's sake-----we are not just going to come up from the bottom like in years past---they are gonna have us go through cherohala skwy in north carolina and come from the top down to the bottom----so no more free rides on your way back to the state line----they are gonna bring unmarked cars with radio's and have unmarked bikes up there----this will be a joint effort with blount county and the THP-----The entire THP motor unit will be brought in 2 people at a time(for a week long assignment) to be paired up with the local car----they plan on busting tail at least 3-4 times right off the bat---then they will sit back and see what takes place-----these orders came from Nashville Headquarters- --we have a complete brand new higher ranking structure from the very tip top spot down----they have said we will work until the problem is solved----just wanted to give you and your friends a heads up.......... SIGNED... .......Trp Cagle with THP assigned to Blount County Division---- (don't come crying to me if you get busted----cause I'm telling you now)"

One way to control is to spread fear.

During the 6 or so times I have been there, I have seen cops about half of the time and they were not bothering anyone. Most everyone was riding reasonable. But it only take 1 a-hole to bring out the worst in a LEO.

+1, the cops never seemed to be that concerned with the sportbikers.

That would have had to have been a goddamn illiterate ass cop to have written that in the first place. My bullshit detector went off with the hyphens replacing the periods every sentence. People are retarded.

Don't know if it helps but I'll be there next week. Yeah it does suck to be you.

---------------------------------------------------

Monday, February 5th

Welcome to another Monday everyone. It's very cold up here, and will be for the next week. We had some snow last week, and into the weekend, but nothing like us northerners are used to, so it's business as usual. If you are brave enough to be riding at this time of year, please be weary of salt on the road. Not only does it make the ground a bit more slippery, but it's not very good for your bike. Make sure to wash that stuff off right away.

If you're in Chicago, make sure to stop by and say hello to us at the IMS motorcycle show. Beth and Francois will be manning the booth, and will be looking for familiar faces.

The renovations are going on as quickly as possible, and all is well in the land of construction. It gets easier to see how it will all work every day that goes by, so hopefully it will be ready in just under a month for when we open back up.

Recently, there was a message sent through the internet world, that there will be some serious patrolling on the Dragon by THP. The person that posted the info claims to be a THP officer, and stated that we will see some major LEO presence this summer, because of all the high speed riding that goes on up here. Let me be the first to tell you that we have not been contacted by the person that allegedly posted that info, and more importantly, we are curious to know how they will actually pull this off, with budgetary constraints and all that. Either way, the report stated that THP will be coming up on the dragon more often this year, and will be targeting the faster riders on this road. It goes on to say that they will be sneaky, using under cover cars and bikes, and will be looking for the ignorant riders that can be found from time to time up here.

While I am happy to finally hear that we will get some sort of support by the local LEO's, I am very disappointed to hear that it's not consistent and that it's a strong arm tactic. Do the higher ups at THP not realize that they can actually do more good with a smaller presence and positive interaction, than they can do with over-saturation?? Once again, whoever is in charge of driving this THP bus, has a very small mind, and doesn't realize they can do way more good with a positive presence, instead of these storm trooper tactics. I wish the THP all the best in their endeavors (if in fact this is all true), and hope they catch the great white whale that they are looking for. More importantly, I sure do hope they don't need any assistance while they are up here, as it might just fall on deaf ears.

Otherwise, all is well here folks. Just another day in paradise.

Please play safe, have fun and be respectful to all you see and meet. --- Ben
