This DEFINES custom sportbikes, not that blinged-out extended swingarm crap....

http://www.cycleworld.com/article.asp?section_id=3&article_id=278

I've got the actual article of Cycle World right here. The site is for more pics and only a handful of information. It's only 400 lb wet.

it says in the article, total parts costs came out to about $15k, with the engine being bought off ebay I think. Labor alone would be double or triple that figure.

radiator (amongst almost everything else) was hand crafted.

he machined the headlight, as well as made the tank himself.

I think I remember reading it has a 916 oil pump.

I'd take one to putt around town...

Not my style, but very nice work.  Somebody spent some time on that.
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

That swingarm is sick!

no it's not...that swingarm is nearly $4000.  Only an idiot would do that when you can get and S4R winger for $250 and all the other crap to make it work for another $500.  shaZam! he could have gone with a Superbike swinger and spent $350~400 for everything minus the wheel but it wouldn't have been a tuber (and the tuber arm is fuckin sick).

$20 for one of the shiney nickels... :cookoo:  It only looks good if you can see past the idiot.

Kasumi

Who cares what it cost! The whole thing about this bike is to build it with no real limits and not worry about the cost - its not a budget bike. Custom bikes cost alot - and in the word custom you don't buy cheap standard kit and just bolt it together it has to custom and different and one of a kind.

I wouldnt expect you to know a quality project when you see one....

"The GC bike takes it step farther, with frame, swingarm, tank and tailsection—heck, even the taillight!—all hand-fabbed by the builder."

jealous are we???

here is the CG site w/ more specs & pics:
http://www.gc-cycles.com/

where did you get $4k for the swingarm? The swingarm was hand-built in the shop.

Turd Ferguson

Yeah, its a home made swing arm which shouldn't cost $4,000 to fab.

I couldn't read the site at work or see any of the larger pics.  It looks just like one of the metmachix tubers and only a moron would spend the money to get their crap.  For something that's hand-made, it's nice.

when you get up to its capable speeds, the wind blast from that will be unreal
