If the RAM doesn't do it, then I dunno...  Maybe I'll just wait 5 more years until I can afford a G5 tower.

It could be that or that there are problems with the HDD or permissions on the HDD.   You can use the disk utility or Disk Warrior if you have access to it to check for permission errors on the HDD.  Also might try resetting the PR ram (restart and imediatly press and hold apple, option, P and R keys untill you hear the apple boot noise again.)

Well...  Here's the funny thing...  I imported some HDV onto the drive and it took up a big-'ol-chunk of space...  Then I started getting LOTS of the "HDD too slow" errors when recording...

After I deleted it, I got less of 'em...

:dunno_white:

Stupid Macs...  If It was a PC, I'd know what to do...  Like on my PC.  It takes like 4 hours to convert HDV to Highest quality mpeg2.  I know what the problem is and how to fix it.  I only have a single 2.4 GHz proc...  So, all I'd have to do it get a faster dual-core processor, new motherboard, and new RAM ('cause mine is PC133)...  There...  Problem solved.

I should just admit that I can't afford to do the things I want and give up my music and video hobbies...  I could just want TV for all my freetime...  Then 40 won't be that far away and by then I'll be too old to care about anything any more.
