This still a battery problem? Or could it be something else?

How about a stock Yuasa YB10L-B2 for $41.72, including shipping? Just go to www.motorcyclebatteriesusa.com and search for the exact part number. For some reason they don't have it referenced for the GS500 but that's where I bought mine. BTW, you'll still need to go to the auto parts store and spend about $8 on acid.

Just bought new battery ~63$ from local company ,3 months warranty
The previous one lasted 4years
If the bike not ridden often or the temp drops significantly ,better have a charger and use it :thumb:
Once it goes flat and sulfation starts to build up ,even if you charge it back, it may not hold the charge for long,
if at all

Ok, now i'm pretty sure it's not the battery issue. I recharged my battery, waited a couple days and brought it to kargen to have them check the voltage. it holds prety well at like 12.something. the bike starts but i push the ignition, but still stalls on me when i want to take it out for a spin.. after like 2 blocks away form my house. what's the problem now?

sledge

When it stalls after the 2 blocks will it restart on the battery?

Maybe it's a carburetor related problem :dunno_white:
How exactly does it stall? Like when you open full throttle?

it stalls when i keep the keep on a steady speed or whenever i slow down for a turn or stop. the last couple of times i tired to take the bike out for a spin, the bike was not able to start itself after it has stalled.

Start checking the simple stuff first:
if the battery is fine check the charging,at 5000rpm voltage across the terminals should be ~13.5-15 volts
check both plugs for good spark
check all wires of ignition system
check the side stand switch ,maybe it's playing up
check gas tank ventilation, ride with cap open and see if problem persists
finally check your carbs for fuel restriction, maybe they're dirty or float level incorrect

you can buy a 20 battery at walmart, but its not sealed, you have to add the acid yourself.  but its worth saving $40 to do so.  I bought one 2 years ago, an itts still going strong

I just spent 50$ on a DIEHARD battery you have to add acid to.... is there some reason it was  more money than the other ones?  I didnt really get a chance to shop around , my battery died I went into the store bought a new one , got a jump and road back to my storage space.

I went back and read your first post.

How did you store the bike for winter?

I'm guessing you are going to need to clean the carburetors.

After that, ride it for 20 minutes and set the idle to 1300rpm.

Ummm... When the weather was Nice I took the bike out for a quick 10-15 min rides, but other than that, i didn't do much with the bike as for as winterizing it. (i'm a terrible owner.)

ok, after I clean the carbs exactly how can I set my idle at 13K rpm if it's not already set at that location?

lastly, exactly how do i clean the carbs? is there a guide that could help me?

Thanks for everybody that has taken to time to help me. I really appericate it.
