I am looking at buying the 140/17 and the 110/17 for mine to do both street and track duty.  Anyone use them?  Having trouble finding sport tires for the thing!?!?  Not ready to do the rear wheel upgrade yet.

pirelli sport demons are as sporty as they get with the stock tire sizes if i remember correctly.  Don't know about the bt090's though.  Do a search for tires and wade through the bazillion or so posts for more details on others opinions.  Search for gsjack + tirelog or tires and you should get his log as to miles per set and what they were.

Edit: also the softer the tire the lower the mileage you will get out of them.  added traction comes with a price   Just how much you get depends on how much you flog it.

thanks for the responses guys.  I think I am going to give them a try.  I also found this site as well:

They seem to cater to racers as well.  They offer free shipping too.

Interesting to note, the BT090 PRO 140/70 is recommended for fitment on a 3.5 rim and the 150/60 is rec for a 4.5 inch rim while approved for the 3.5 rim, most 140/70 and 150/60 tires are rec for the 4.0 rim.

The 140/70 should fit the GS without even bending the brake rod required for some 150 tires.  Looks like an excellent choice for track days, but could get quite expensive for high milage street users.   :)

407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

Yep, the BT090 140's fit without any mods. They do last less but a sacrifice for their stickiness. Very predictable when they do slide. The best I have got out of a set (fronts mostly) was 3 trackdays and the worst was less than 1. That was at Jennings in FL which is a very abrasive track and very hot that day. Note that only the sides are gone, plenty on center rubber left. Saving those for fun street play time.
