I made it a few hours North of New Orleans and was freezing my ass off and I knew it would just get colder and colder. The wind beat the hell out of me and I was worn down so I set up camp for the night in Mississippi. Next morning it was a little warmer but the wind was blowing 15 -20 mph out of the North so I headed South to Mobile AL. I met up with a buddy and went camping. From there the trip was shot but not a loss. I got out of town, away from traffic and the craziness of the city and found the serenity I was looking for.

Later I found out from 3imo that he got the hell outta dodge midday Saturday due to ice forming and snow starting to get heavy. Knowing that I'm glad it didn't work out but this summer I plan on another trip. I don't really care about the destination. Its about me and all my camping gear and the freedom of it all. How I become a self sufficient, compact, and efficient traveling unit. Ready to go wherever and ready for anything. Except ice.  ;)

I made it on the 16th around noonish, slapped the ride together and rode the gap UP and Down once before the sun went down.

That Friday was a very clear, dry, and beautifully sunny Day.  Unfortunately it was about 20-30 degrees out.

I had so much gear on to counter the cold, that I could hardly move. I wore military issue cold weather leather gloves, and struggled with the throttle, clutch and brake.

On the bright side, it was a great day and the views are awesome. The switchbacks on the Dragon were better than I expected. I didn't know my wagon was so nimble.

Saturday morning was a bit dry with snow flurries, I rode from Robbinsville to The dragon resort and turned back.  By noon some parts had water/ice and I figured by sunday everything would go to shaZam!, so I packed up the bike again and headed home.

I have pics and vids uploaded to photobucket to post but I am now blocked from that site:

I will find a way to post them.

I won't waste the bandwith.  check out the rest in the gallery.

I forgot to mention on my way home Saturday, I decided to take the Cherohalla skyway.  It goes up the mountains about a mile.
Check out the pics.  The roads were icey and miserable but the views were awesome.

I can't wait to hit them on the bike this summer.

Hey guys, I will be at the Gap June 29-31.  I already have a chalet for Gatlinburg the prior Monday through Saturday, and I plan to stay until Sunday to have more time at the Gap.  I'd love to get a group together for that weekend if anyone is interested!
Something is wrong with my twin...all of a sudden it's V shaped!  Wait, no, now it's a triple!  ...and I IZ NOT a postwhore!
