I went over to the park to do some uturns and tiny circles, super slow manuevers, stop n go's, etc.

I looked DOWN instead of where I wanted to end up, and actually pushed it onto the shoulder, which was conviniently covered in tiny brown oak leaves. (SLIPPERY) No big deal. A few scratches (tiny) on the case and a tiny scratch on the mirror.

As usual, I walked off the bike (kinda stepped OVER it) and watched it shudder/spin/flail to a stop.

Bad Human! No cappucino! Baaaad!

I'll be buying some engine guards now, along with trying to find another buell flyscreen, since fedex dropped the last one I bought somewhere in California.

Happens to the best of us. I've done it repeatedly while practicing my tight slow speed circles. Case guards are the best investment I could have made for my bike. I highly recommend the SW-Motech guards (but if you can find them from a different vendor than twisted throttle, do it!) I got em for $120 shipped from twisted throttle.. but it took about a week for them to email me saying they were on backorder, then 3 more weeks for them to ship, and about 4 days to actually get to me. Not the greatest customer service, since the website said they were in stock. Oh well.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Happens to the worst of us, too....  :icon_lol:

The case guards on my commuter GS saved him a WORLD of hurt!  :thumb:

Glad you're allright.  You have learned well, grasshopper.  You may yet have a long riding career.  And, you know I've done that, too.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

In my case dropped off several inches lower than my left leg was long...

The GS launched me into the grass and found a nice resting place near me.
Just a little carolina red mud was on my LH case.

In my situation I didn't look down, but trusted the road and shoulder were about the same level. Not so right there!  At least I was in my secluded neighborhood and the fellow that I stopped for helped me set my GS upright.

You are in good company so don't worry about it.

Hey Pandy!  :kiss3:

I'd ride two up with her any day. Them Cal-lee-for-ni-a girls would be cool to hold onto. If the bike found itself in a stable condition, I could say that I got Pandied by the best!

Well...they don't call dropping one's bike a "pandy moment" for nothing...  It's just too bad that a "pandy moment" isn't something daring and squidly.... a wheelie or a stoppie of some sort... :P  :icon_mrgreen:

ooooh now we're talking!!!!

everybody drops their bikes one way or another. i always say it's much better to go down practicing some slow speed maneuvers & LEARN something, rather than.... well, you know....

ohgood

OK, this is weird. I've been puttering around on torque and nothing else since I dropped her. At first I thought nothing of it. Now it seems that's all I'm doing. 3-6k rpm's is all I like.

On a side note, I did rev it for a guy that pulled alongside on a olllld cb750 cafe rocket. Of course his sounded incredible, and mine just loud. Picture a cb750 with a full metal fender, front and rear, drag bars, lowered, straight (LOUD) exhaust megaphone pointed UP on either side. Obnoxiousely noisey and wonderfull ride!

I feel a 'project bike' itch coming on. This gs has spoiled me with reliability that I might take on another steed.

That would depend on what the terms of Beeatchment were wouldn't it? If I rode with you we would both have helmets of course! That way you couldn't hear my screams!
