Looking for a 04 - 05 gs500f

Anyone want a custom TL1000S?  Dyno's 124whp and has a single side swinger...

(I'm actually considering selling to pursue this...190~210lb bike with 65rwhp [CR500R block])

there's a brand new red Hyosung 650 ST for sale near me for $4800.... so tempting.

DO IT!    You might even be able to get that down a little more also.  I got my 05 R ( 0 miles leftover stock) OTD for 4500 back in november.

Back on topic, I want to see this creation Mak but I may be relocating come summer time so...if you are just a little creative I know you could make a grand pretty soon with all the stuff you have laying around.

Where ya leavin to?

Irritating because I know I can conjure the funds to nab the bike and a CR500R car-kit (already found the CR kit...and an RS250 kit!!) but if I can come up with the money for THAT then I need ot be able to come up with the money for the lighting kit kalee needs for her photography.  She's been asking for strobes for over a year now...

I am sooooooo seriously consdering selling my TL to do it, though...I could do both, that way.

Greatness takes sacrifice... :icon_mrgreen:

It looks like I will be moving to the DFW area, specifically around Hurst this summer.  You know what my main problem with the move is right now...I have to either sell a lot of vehicles or figure out how to move four cars, one truck and two bikes.

Just unsure about that sacrafice...I'd be real pissed to learn that the bikes can't hold up to 70hp.  And so much work would have to be done to make me feel comfy pushing the brakes and wheels with 70hp.

RL carriers would move both the bikes for around $300.  It's a bit out of the way but I've got yard space I could fit a few cars in for a couple months until you figure it out.  I can clear out enough shop space, too, for bikes but you shouldn't have any trouble moving them.

cuda_06

Right now it looks like I will try to sell the RX-7 and the F250.  Then I will only have to worry about moving the cuda, the CSVT and the bikes ( my wife will just drive her GTP down).  Like you said the bikes shouldn't be too difficult.  I will trailer the cuda and might just see about getting a one way ticket back up here to drive the CSVT down after the rest has made it down.  Now if I don't sell the F250 and the RX-7 then I might have to take you up on your offer for temporary storage.  Either that or find another body to drive with me to DFW as the F250 will easily trailer the RX-7.  Who knows.  :dunno_white:

Back to topic...you are right, it could be a big sacrifice depending on the build of the bike.

it just got pushed up on my "cool stuff to do" list.  I've found the bike...$1000.  I've found a 1999 CR500R car kit...$650.  I've also found a KZ1000 so I can have something with umph and pillion friendliness for $1000 (like three blocks from you, Cuda).  And Kalee's lights cost $1500.  I can get at least $3500 for my bike....closer to $4500 if I hold out for someone who really wants a single side swingarm.  I've got a bit of project money saved up.  I think I could pull it off.  Just gotta find some more info on these little bastards.

you're selling the Baracuda???

I'm not planning on it.  Not to say that if someone came along offering the right price I wouldn't think about it but it is not currently up for sale.  I am however looking at getting rid of some of my other cars right now.  I just don't want to move all of them.  Two posts up should explain the predicament pretty well I think.

took me a bit of odd calculation to figure this stuff up:

Front rotors: 244mm

That's a bit smaller than I want but the bolt pattern is the same as Honda. That makes that easy to tend. The caliper hanger is a little weak looking but I think it'll still hold up to an SV 4 piston pincher.

There's no cush. I can get a sprocket and machine a ducati-esque cush into it. It's simply bolted to the wheel. It'll make virtually any 520 sprocket viable as long as the hub diameters match up.

Forks...legs, 34mm. Tubes, looks like 50mm at the clip-ons.

still measuring stuff...

Anyone got any suggestions for afforable larger 2-stroke motors?  Only ones I really know about are the CR500 and KX500.  I also need something that could power a light but I've never done a lighting set on a 2-stroke.

makenzie71

oooo may also look at a klr650 engine. Not thrilled about a 4-stroke, but it'll be easier to set the lights and everything up.  I don't know how I'm going to light up a 2-stroke...well could go magneto but they usually don't put that much voltage...hmm...

makenzie71

Ok the front rotors are actually 266mm...seems really odd sizing...however a lot of this stuff is based on zooki measurements.  The caliper hangers are same size as SV1000...which beaing able to fit my TL 6-pots would be splendid, I'll settle for those beefy ass 4-pot SV calipers (the sv's are bigger anyway).

Each one of those spokes on those 10-spoke wheels is a little over 1" wide and about 3/4" thick.  HEavy cast alloy...super heavy crap...I'd have to think of something else later on down the road...a set of GS wheels would work perfectly I think.

I was right about the tubes I think...they're quite a bit beefier than they look but damn all that travel they look like they have makes them look so dinky lol.

Big issue now is trying to find a way to make a CR500R engine turn out at least 100 watts.
