Hey Everyone.
I am looking for a starter bike but one that I am able to drive on the highway(the distance is around 400kms) Is the Gs 500 good for a 5'10" male wieghting around 225lbs and able to drive on the highway?
Thanks
I am 5"10 and around 250lb, and I am happy with the bike
A crash is the result of the rider's mistake, so don't blame the bike

A rider should be able to control the bike but not controlled by the bike, becuase on the track you don't want to DNF and on the road you don't want to lose you licence

won't be stock for long!
(see laundry list in sig)

sounds good. you will be happy with.

pick you up a 15t front sprocket and a new chain maybe a new rear 39t sprocket too since you are changing them all. this will increase your acceleration you wont lose much top end and its still very doable on the freeway.  the windscreen will cut down on wind a lot.

I to get knocked around on the GS but I guess I just got used to it. it can be scary on bridges though. Im 5'10" 191lbs  and the wind still kicks me around
1991 Suzuki GS500E , a bunch of crap done to it :)

good idea on the sprockets.  once i get it back together i'll  be able to assess those things more clearly.

Where do you live?  I will have one for sale very soon.  I have a GS500F (2005),  red, black, and silver.  Less than 2000 miles in perfect condition.  Orig. owner, never down.  Selling as I bought a Katana 600 on Ebay last Sept.  leonardtomsik@yahoo.com for more info and pix.
Have 2 bikes and 1 scooter (125cc).  Other bike is Kawasaki Ninja 250, as well as the Suzuki GS500.  Recently sold the Ninja.  Added the checkerboard decals to the GS.  They are reflective 3M decals.
