I just purchased an '04 GS500F - it's my first bike and I have a few questions.  (BTW, I did take the MSF course).  Apparently, the previous owner was a bit slow on the maintenance and would rig things to "make them work".  My fiance went over the bike with a fine tooth comb (he's been riding for years).  Anyway, on my last ride out, the right mirror fell off my bike at about 60 mph.  Seems like the bolt holding it onto the fairing was cracked!  There was no way to go back and pick up what was left of it.  I've been searching after market mirrors and can't seem to find anyone who carries replacement mirrors.  I'm into function on this bike and dont' want to spend what the dealer is charging ($55!).  Any advice on where to find replacements?  Are there other mirrors that are specific to other bikes that will work on the GS500F? I would love to be able to go pick them up some where and bolt them on.  Thanks for your help!

Welcome!

If you do an Advanced search on "replacement mirrors", and only select the "General Discussion", you'll get only 1 page of results of which #4, #14 and #15 threads will be helpful.  The search button is the third one, at the top.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Did the search and came up with being able to use hyabusa mirrors... just ordered some on ebay after the guy measured the bolt holes for me and they should fit.  Wish me luck!

You should lose the faring and get some Gen2 SV Mirrors.   :icon_mrgreen:
