I went for a ride yesterday afternoon with my brother's in law, one has a Cagiva canyon & the other has a Triumph Speedmaster. It was on this ride that I discovered that the ol' GS isn't as good as every body raves about.

The problem I had was that it wont out drag a 900cc triumph.

But once we got to some windy bits I left them for dead

I like popping it left and right around cars, pedestrians, manhole covers. For weighing as much as it does it feels suspended by a thread sometimes.

That is the 130 (or 140) rear tire at work.   Much easier to get the bike from one side to the other than on a race-replica sporty bike

No one has ever raved about the GS being fast in a straight line.  :cookoo:

and then against a 900?  :icon_rolleyes:

Any idiot can go fast in a straight line.
Common sense in not very common.

I've got a 140 on the rear also got the forks raised through the triple.

So I'm guessing that if I can't out drag a Trumpy a 600 sports bike will be faster than me in a straight line too  :dunno_white:

You know...  I know you're just goofin' Bubba, but......

I rode my friend's Baby Monster (the 695... And yes, it's a grrl's bike... and yes, she is a grrl), and it didn't feel  much faster than the GS, even though I know it is...

I was riding with my buddy, he was on his SV...  Normally, he doesn't have any trouble keeping up (unless we're on nasty twisties) and he said he had to open the SV up quite a bit......  I was banging that thing out, full throttle.  It's much more jumpy and grumpy in low revs...

But, it didn't FEEL much faster than the GS.   :dunno_white:  And it was harder to flip around...   :dunno_white:

I'd rather ride a bike that feels fast, but isn't...   :icon_mrgreen:  Triple-Digits == Bigger Tickets.

Yeah I'm just joshin around with you guys

If I wanted to drag other bikes off I'd go & buy a hirebus.

Go drag a Thruxton 900.

You'll scare the pants off retro boy at the very least.
