No I haven't tried Muscle Milk.I was Taking Amino Acids a While back but Never Had time to Lift Weights so I gave it up.I can' remember the name of them I'll look this Evening.What Few I took helped But I've lost what Mass I built up a Few Months Ago. :mad:

Heard of it, but haven't tried Muscle Milk. I hear it makes ya fat - lots of carbs.

well i wanted to ask about the fat content. its outrageous and i was wondering if that was all relative or what.. its 18g of fat 8g saturated. per serving that is. thats HIGH!

I weigh 128 pounds so not sure if my opinion counts for much, but it would be cheaper to get creatine/calcium carbonate supplements and just take a multivitamin.

Dont go overboard with the calcium type stuff as it can contribute to bone spur growth... painful, some ex-bodybuilders get that.

I'm about your size, currently 130lb and have been pretty much the same for the last 10 years, but while on sizeon i gained 15lbs, but I lost all that muscle pretty much immediatly after stopping. I agree creatine and maybe whey protein would work just as well - i guess it all depends on how you want to look and what your body type is.

createin is no good cuz it just adds water weight to your muscles.  as soon as u stop taking it, you go back to what u were before.  this muscle milk doesnt have createin in it but it does supposedly increase the body's natural creatien production.  it has a ton of protein in it tho..

i read the container and it specifically says that the origin of the fats is from some big word and they are proven to NOT be detrimental to my losing body fat.

How carefully have you reviewed your diet?

Supplementing is great, but many folks seem to forget what supplement means.  It is an addition designed to boost the effectiveness of a carefully designed diet.  If you want to gain muscle, I recommend eating lots of lean meat and beef, and don't forget the carbohydrates, your body will need those, too.  If you don't get them, you will burn all that expensive protein for energy instead of using it for muscle-building.

In short, if you aren't paying attention to your natural sources, the supplements won't help nearly as much.

It sounds funny, but if you want the building materials for muscle in your diet, eat something else's muscles  :dunno_white: .   Many of the supplements lifters take are compounds found in meat (including creatine and amino acids).

Creatine works wonders when I use it in conjunction with harder workouts and a high protein diet.  Yes, I gain a lot of water weight, but in the end of the cycle I typically lose only about half of the weight I gained.  The first time I used it my net gain was 12 pounds in 2.5 months.  Not bad if you asked me.

Some people recommend taking the amino acid glutamine, which found in high concentrations in muscle tissue.  This may help some with muscle building, but glutamine is not an essential amino acid, which is to say that your body can manufacture it from precursors; so I'm not really sold on supplementing with it.
