my journey will begine around 6:00 tomorrow from fayetteville NC ending at walter reed hospital on the north side of Washington.  After my appt. ill retrace my steps home.  it should be right around 700 miles.  i just hope i get out of D.C. before rush hour.  it should be a high in the mid 60's in D.C. and mid 70's in NC so it whould be a good ride.  im gonna ride with a camelback to stay hydrated on the ride.  im guessing about 4-5 gas stops along the way. wish me luck as this will be my longest ride ever.

Right on! Shouldn't be a problem, just take a quick walk at each gas stop and it will keep you from getting too tired on the long ride.

And the most important tip is earplugs, the constant wind noise for hours on end will make you tired and hard of hearing.

Shifting your riding position slightly every so often will help too.

On long rides, I'll sometimes put some unwrapped snacks in my tankbag (preferably with caffene) to help keep me going.

Good luck

+2 on ear plugs, they are a must. Also a mega wind screen makes such a long journey much less painful.

I did an iron butt (1000 miles in 24 hours) on the day that I bought my bike.  No biggie, just stay hydrated and wear earplugs.  Enjoy!!!   :thumb:
