i popped in a carb rebuild kit in both carbs slapped it all back in and when i turned the gas tank to on, a few seconds later the carbs were leaking gas like it was urinating  :).  This sound like a float needle problem?  adjust the seats?  i thought i made sure that the needle fit snug into the hole to plug it up when i pulled the floats up.  it looked like it would work like a champ. do i just have to make sure that when the float is at the top the needles plug up the hole? i replaced all the rubbers so i think that theyre good.  any suggestions? i think im going to take it apart again and double check tomorrow.  thanks

ummm has nothing to do with the needle.  your floats are stuck.

Your new float valve may be shorter than the old one, causing them not to shut off the fuel flow when the floats are all the way up. Try bending the tab up on the floats untill it stops pissing. Then you can check your float level with a clear tube and fine tune the float level.

Also make sure the fuel lines are hooked up correctly. If you put the gas line where the vent/overflow is supposed to go, I think gas will dump.

In the future you shouldn't slap your carbs; if you do, now you know what happens. They piss all over you!  of course if that's what you're into that's cool, I don't judge. Whatever gets your jolies

The technical name for the valve attached to the float is the needle valve.  It's in all the parts fiches.  Then you have the needle jet (aka emulsion tube) and jet needle (the only thing that actually looks like a needle).  I don't know what the obsession is with calling things 'needle,' but it is what it is.
