I am looking to buy a jet kit for my 99 as I am adding a full pipe and lunchbox

I have looked at the DynoJet and Factory Pro kits. Both were stage 3.

Is one better than the other? Any feedback on either?

Do you recommend any others?

Thanks in advance for the info.

Buy the jets individually.  They're cheaper, and problems are easier to diagnose.
Sorry, I won't answer motorcycle questions anymore.  I'm not f%$king friendly enough for this board.  Ask me at:

+1

I have a 99 with a pipe and a Uni filter. I just got some 140 mains (or was it 145?) a 40 pilot and I shimmed the needle up a little bit and it runs great, still get 55mpg too  :thumb: . I'm sure others will chime in with their oppinions on a good jetting combo.

the needle is an important part of "Performance Jetting" a motor so if you want the smoothest power, go with a jet kit. The difference is minimal though so you can save yourself $60 buying a couple of main jets. I prefer factory pro kits because they use Mikiuni and Keihin jets and needles. The Factory pro kit reccomends the stock Pilot and doesn't come with one as a result so if you just want the bike to equal fuel to air and are not too worried about optimum (you'll never get it perfect without dynoing anyway) just buy a few mains and play with the needle hight.

You send it to me and It will be near about perfect for a seat of the pants feel ...
I believe factory uses the stock needles but cuts extra notches in them ... you can do that with washers.
I sell a sorta kit that includes pilots ... or you can buy 150 mains (large round slotted) 40 pilots, non bleed, #4 washers and allen head bolts for the float bowls and go to town.
Prolly cost ya $15-18 or I'd sell you some all packaged in 1 "kit" for $25 shipped ... yea I know I am a rip off ...
you absolutely need 40 pilots ... no one sells them, maybe they are worried about patent violations ... I dunno, 40's absolute must.
Cool.
