Ken (werase643) is the only one that I know, or that will admit to it.

The person I bought my exhaust off reccomended that I use the Dynojet kit because thats what he had. The installation wasn't the easiest, you had to drill and tap holes and such. And I have yet to get the bike running well. From the experience I've had I would reccomend looking at one of the jetting matrix pages or asking someone for what size jets you need.

I have used the Dynajet kit on two bikes, both stage 3.  Jetted perfectly on both bikes.  Use choke to start, turn choke off in a few seconds, ride away in 30 seconds.  One is a track bike, one is a street bike.  Street bike gets 50 mpg average, track bike pulls everywhere without a hiccup.

yup,
did that long before this site was a thought in john's brain.

track bike
didn't know much back then and was still easy to install
ran great

i went to the track so....inoften....
I had to clean the carbs before i went or at the track

would a stage 1 kit work with a bassani slip-on and uni pods? if not how do i get a stage 3 kit for an 04? dynajet only sales a stage 1 for 04 and up.

The reputation of Uni pods is that they can run on stock jetting.  If that's true then Stage 1 should be fine.

If you mean DynoJet.. I have a statge 1 and I like it.. no probs  :thumb: the install was kinda drawn out like said above... Drilling the (slides?) or whatever... that sucked.. But I have no problems and got a free dyno run  :thumb:

i have the slip-on on my bike now with stock jetting and stock air bob and i have no problems so if the uni pod filter wont make that much difference than i guess a stage 1 kit will work out good. whats the deal with drilling from what i read on the dynojet website is the instalation is easy as long as you follow the instructions given :dunno_white:. so im going to order the jet kit and the pods in the morning and will let you guys know how it goes. im not lookign at a performance gain just better starts and less warm up time for when going to work, i leave at 6 a.m and my biek is a bit loud so the less i have the choke on the better.

I have a stage 1 Dynojet kit. If you are looking for better start-ups you are in luck. I don't even touch my choke. It starts beautifuly every time. I am so happy I did it.

Booo Dynojet

Jet kits are the biggest joke, you are going to pay $50 for some kit with like 6 jets

Check out the rejet matrix and save yourself the money, its in the FAQ section and order the jets indvidually

Anti - You are supposed to jet it to use the choke. Else warm starts could be a problem.
Mach 1 - The Uni Pods cannot run with stock jetting. The UNI replacement filter (looks just like stock but made of UNI material) will run with stock jetting. The biggest difference is ... the airbox.
Drilling the slides is needed only because of their damn needle. Stock needle will let you run without drill ...
Coll0412 - right on all counts.
Here is a new service I offer. A DJ jet job fix is $45 + your stock needles.
No stock needles ... no fix ...  :o

ok so using the dj jets and the stock needle would be better? i wasnt plannig on shimming the needle cause of what im runnig. a member of this board told me what jets he used and he ran the same set  up as me and same year bike.  i understand about buying jets one by one and not as a set but dont really wanna go that way.

THe dynojet includes custom main jets designed for the custom needle that comes with the package. Thats what realyl sucks about dynojet is the stupid needle, and the fact that you have to then buy there special jets(if you lose any form the package)

I will tell you from having dynojet installed on my bike(by the previous owner) that it fricking sucks to tune, I have a drop in K&N and V&H, V&H Ign Advancer

I am not sure since I have a 99' and the carbs are different

Check out the jetting matrix in the FAQ

22.5 Piliot - Sounds Good
65 Mid= might be too rich, you may want to get  62.5
147.5 main= may be way to rich may want 127.5

These vary by how well the uni filter and bassani pipe breath. My guess is that the uni filter is only slightly better than stock, but I have no clue about the bassani
CRA #220

mach1

yes the uni will breath better than stock, but dont know about the bassani never seen one put on a gs well other than the guy i got it frombut now he has my stock. im guessing it doesnt breath way more since i have it on my bike now with stock jets and as far a riding goes its the same kich it just hanges when i rev it gets a bit anoyying. but thanks for the info

if it hangs when you rev it, it's too lean..

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.
