So I was driving home last afternoon in my town & country with my two year old daughter when I came to a stop light with several cars lined up.  I came to a stop at the red light, then I check my rear-view mirror.  I saw a late model Dodge Dakota coming at me more than a little too fast. 

Needless to say, he didn't stop, and he plowed right in to the back of my van.  My daughter and I left the scene with no damage other than some soreness in my forearm.  We were very lucky.  If we had been in my Camaro, or if I had been on my bike, we could've been hurt or I could've been killed. 

It was a scary moment.  Pay attention out there folks!  I'd put up pics, but our van was towed and ended up at the body shop by this morning.  Unlike many of the people involved in accidents on this board, the guy that hit me has full coverage, didn't try to run, and actually called tonight to see how we were.  Also, two policemen showed up within two minutes, and I actually had a witness stop and give me their info.  All in all, it was a relatively...umm...pleasant accident.

And I'm glad the guy who hit you was a decent human being. Did he say what happened? Was he distracted or....??

BTW...  how old's ur daughter?  Did any paramedics on scene check you two out?

sounds similar to my only cage accident... rear ended in my old car by a blonde in a jetta on her way to yoga class. i couldn't look at my car without wanting to break something else so i looked at her instead. ended up going out on a date with her but it didn't quite work well, what with her totalling the reason i woke up everyday.

Yeah; I made sure we both were checked out.  My daughter and I went directly to the emergency room.  I was relatively certain I was fine, but she couldn't really say if she had any discomforts.  I don't take any chances when it comes to my daughter! 

We're both in good shape.  As for the other driver, he never really said why, but he just didn't notice the line of traffic that was stopped until it was too late.  These things happen, no one was hurt, stuff can be fixed/replaced.  No worries.
