Well, not completely.  I was getting ready to go to the gym this morning, and I realized something didn't look right about my license plate (2005 GS500F).  On further inspection, both screws that hold the fender to the frame are just...gone, and the fender is hanging down almost touching the rear wheel.  Anyone know what size those are, so I can replace them?  Yes, I promise to use Locktite.  And yes, I know it would look better without the fender, but I don't want to tackle that big of a project tonight.

Thanks!

just take one of the remainding bolts to the local hardware store & size them. That's what I did. they are something metric.... & I got steel hex replacements. should be an easy find.

The tricky part was that I didn't have any bolts left to take to the hardware store.  I thought it was just held on with one in the front and two in the back, and all of those were missing.  Then I found a parts fiche on the 'net that said they were 6x16s, and there were actually 5 of them.  I replaced them with 6x20's, because I couldn't find 16s and I knew there was nothing blocking them, and when I got home I looked and discovered 4 of the 5 were missing.

I'm puzzled how that happened.  I don't see any other loose hardware on the bike, but in less then 4000 miles I lost 4 of the 5 tail fender bolts?

Hey Tina if you will look at the Part Numbers on the Fiche you will find that the Last Number Sequence contains the Bolt Size. for Example -06102  would be a 6mm Bolt 10mm Long,-08155 would be a 8mm Bolt 15mm Long.It doesn't Always work for Screws though. :thumb:
