Its usually used to describe someone who is an irresponsible rider.  A squid usually is into riding to impress people (i.e. stunting, exhibition of speed) and can often be found wearing flip flops, a t-shirt and a bitchin pair of sunglasses.

From what I've heard, the term originally was used to describe someone who had no bike handling skills.  Just like an actual squid, they were fast in a straight line, but slow when turning.

I recently down graded myself to a squid again because I spent more than 100 bucks fixxing a parallel parking job and i still have stuff to see if it will buff out.

YES!!! Little spoon! i had almost forgot!  my roommate is a squid, rides like a moron, crashed his bike, no longer rides.  Id say that qualifies as squid.

Here's a squid for you...

I was cagin it around town and as I was going straight through a green light, I saw this beautiful 748 sitting in the left turn lane. I noticed that the rider was only wearing a helmet and maybe gloves. The rest was jeans, a tshirt, and tennis shoes. As I drive past him, I yell out, "Squid!" I looked in my rear view mirror and saw that he pulled into my lane and got behind me. The next light up was red, so he went past me up to the front of the line of cars. He was revving his engine to apparently show off how cool he was. The light turned green, and he went to take off... and stalled out the bike. I bust up laughing, and it's only getting worse because I see him walking the bike up onto the sidewalk to move it out of the way. My tears from laughter almost turned to tears of sadness when I realized that such a squid owned a pristine 748 that I would die for, but the image of the bike lurching forward and stalling was just too damn funny.
