why ty. heh im half tempted to keep it, however, i want teh same setting in gold, which by itself at my cost is around 90 for teh setting, and another 20 for the stone, so im going to start with silver b4 i move to gold and diamonds and such, plus ive got to finish setting up my work area ( in basement)

the setting, and the stone were bought, and assembled by myself, im ordering a monogram style ring, in silver monday along with a small gold cross, and a 2mm stone, for a friend, and putting that together. 

my newest one, im not quite done yet, if you look at the bottom of teh band, you can see teh two solder joints

Very nice stuff. Being a fellow jeweler I'll try to give you some constructive criticism.

On the first ring, you have some prongs that are pretty far away from the crown of the stone. Since it's silver, there's a good chance that one of those prongs could catch on something and either bend backwards or break off; causing the loss of the stone.

It's a very nice ring though. 

The second one is pretty cool too. What are the stones in there? Did you assemble it much the same way (buy mounting and stones and assemble)?
With that solder gap; I think you either had too large of a gap or the solder didn't flow all the way to that side. It looks like it formed a little bit of a meniscus.


I think it's great that you're getting into making your own jewelry. I would never have seen myself in this field at all; but being desperate for a job and getting lucky just happened to be one of the best things that ever happened to me.

Keep up the good work; it's an awesome set of skills to have. 

criticism taken skoebl, and appreciated) aye im inclind to believe that the solder didnt flow all the way across at the bottm, it did quite well at teh top though  , monday ill have that taken care of. oh btw the stones in the latest ring are diamonds. which, until i get my gia cert, im not qualified to say what grade, but under a loupe, i see very little in flaws. and tehy are channel set about a carat tw

i removed teh ruby and added a blue topaz, hmm what to do with the ruby, mebbe a nose or clit ring or pendandt or...? any ideas?

I think that a pendant would be the best of that list. Def not a clit ring
