I was on my way back from test driving a fo-do-crapbox (it gets rainy in florida) and I rev'd a little turning RIGHT at a gixxer.

I did a 6 check later and noticed him tailing.

At the next light he came alongside and said: " I know what that is, and I NEED it for my wife to learn on! Sell it to me! "

Anyone that noticed the thread about a local shop almost killing me knows I won't consider selling it for a while.

Stopped for a while at a gas station and he looked it over, while I 'tested' his for my 6'4" frame. He was seriousely going to go inside to the ATM if I said yes.

He said when he heard it, he KNEW what bike it was and almost got creamed trying to get around the intersection traffic to catch me.

Man, for a simple carburated 500cc, this thing generates alot of interest.

Yes, the gixxer's exhaust note was a nasty nasty thing. Yes, it should be banned from all roadways. Yes, it makes rediculous power.

Yeah but only by people who want to buy them for thier wives

Yeah, my friend suggested that we trade bikes for a while once I get mine all straightended out so  that his GF can learn to ride.

I had a guy on a GSXR600 offer to buy mine to use as a daily rider to keep the miles off the GSXR.  I told him $2k.  We traded numbers he said he'd think about it.  I offered to straight up trade and I'd take over payments on the GSXR, he didn't like that idea too much

All day long on message boards (not this one) I see people saying "Start on a 600/1000/750 bike or else you'll get bored with a 250/500!!!"...... *until* its their girlfriend or their sister that is learning to ride.

Then its all: "WTB a used 250/500 for gf"
