Man, you guys are right.  Now my GS looked 100 times better  All it took was a razor blade and 10 mins of my time.  I also got rid of the retarded smiley face on the rear fender  One stone killed 2 birds...

CONGRATU-FREAKIN-LATIONS!!!!!! I cut mine off after discovering this wonderful site and, not a week later, cut more off with the aid of Pablo's license plate mod. Looks even better that way!!! Glad to hear another GS is relieved of some ugliness!!

I cut mine down today. My wife was a bit puzzled when I tried to explain to her what I was doing.

I think I get a 10% HP boost!  

You can explain these things to your WIFE, wow!

Where exactly is this rear fender you speak of?  There's a seat, there's a license plate... not much else.

I suspect that jjr_vw is not from the USA but from somewhere that has big ugly registration plates like in the UK where those since 2001 reg can be three lines deep, two letters for area two digits for year "03" etc and three random letters for personal identification. There is only about an inch of fender (or mudgaurd if your're european jjr) left visible on my bike but it's days are numbered.
