I've been looking all over the internet and no one sells front sprockets for the GS. I need a 14T for the summer cause I won't be commuting anymore and wanna have some fun. Will a GSXR or Kat sprocket fit?

That seems like a good place.

prolly, but i'm on impulse buying mode so i want one NOW!!!  :icon_mrgreen: plus my local shop take 2 weeks to get something too me. They sell 11T sprockets for this bike.  :o None of that sounds like a good idea.

The splines are the same as the GSXR, TL, SV. It will need to be for a 520 chain. Some sprockets have a shoulder. I have a GSXR front sprocket with a shoulder on my 97.

That Sprocket Specialists 504 will fit all years of GS's, it's the one I get from Chaparral since they have good price on the DID chain I use.

The SS 504 has no hub on it and your bike and all GS's since 93 have a hub, sprocket will align itself from rear sprocket.  No spacer required.

I only paid 9.99 for mine it a JT13 but all fronts where the same price.

I'll look tonight to who I bought it from.

alright bought that sprocket, now i can try a wheelie...

In a empty parking lot with full gear on, of course.

Don't forget a buddy with a fire extinguisher and cell phone to call the ambulance :thumb:   Seriously, you pop the clutch with enough rev's and it's gonna flip on top of you :o

iv76erson03

yeah i'm doing to try to avoid the dumping part. how much am i going to need to tighten my chain with the 14T?

spc

I only had to move my wheel out one notch on the little scale provided on the swingarm at first.   i'm backed almost all the way out now :icon_confused:  Time for a new chain :icon_confused:  The first one with my 14t I almost dumped, the guys around me said it was probably about a 75 degree angle :o

iv76erson03

thats gettin her up. Is it possible to pull it up in 1st without clutching it with the 14T, or do you still need to clutch it? I've popped my wheel up maybe an inch or two but thats about it with my 16T.

spc

It'll pull up but not much   Also whatever you do don't just let go of the throttle while your up............very bad idea :o  light rear brake pressure will bring ya back down to the ground just fine

iv76erson03

thanks for the tip, i'll let you know how it goes.  :thumb:

With my 13T I pull a lot harder but will not come up no matter how much I give it. I've not tried to clutch it up becuase I'm not a wheelie fan, but I'm sure it would. My goal was quick twisties.
