Hows it going. I am a new owner of a gs500f 2006. With that said I have a few questions for yall that have more experience with these bikes.
Now we all know the rear wheel and tire size is limited do to the fact there is no room in the rear. My question is, is it possible to put on a rear swing arm from another bike that will alow with few or no mods to alow for a bigger wheel and tire.

If you're so concerned about looks, just buy a different bike. The GS isn't about looking cool, it's about learning how to ride well.

If you are still concerned about looks, just swap rear wheels to the Katana wheel and get a 150 tire on there.

+1, if you're a new rider concentrate on that, I'm new and thats what I'm sticking with.  Get some miles before you worry about mods.

Otherwise, alpha knows what hes talking about, its documented here if you want a howto:

I understand the need to learn how to ride first! This mod wasnt going to be right away, Was lookin into the future, possible when I need new tires. Now I have read the article above before I even posted, the fact is that will work if your happy with that size tire. Besides whats wrong with looking good even if your just learning? Ya might say you have a very good chance of dumping the bike but what ill say is the best of them still dump it every once and awhile!

And what I'm saying is you shouldn't be concerned with getting as wide a tire on there as you can. If you want to look cool, just buy a new bike. The GS doesn't have near enough power to need a tire larger than a 150 (and even a 150 can be overkill). You wouldn't even be increasing your contact patch noticeably either, especially considering the low weight of the GS. The only reason why most people go with a 150, as noted in the article, is for a better selection of tires (notably, supersport grade rubber). As a new rider you will doubtfully ever be able to overwhelm a 150 series Pilot Power on the GS. Unless you crash.

No swingarm will fit without some form of modification. RGV is the only one that I can confirm will fit in the frame. several bushings and spacers will need to be made. Shock length will need to be considered. The upper shock mount may need to be modified. Another that I recall reading about is an early GSXR. I have no idea what years or what is required for fit. Most bike have swing arms that are too wide for the GS.
Common sense in not very common.
