The Castrol and Mobil bike oils are different than their car oils, but they don't have any miracle ingredients. Even the range of their ingredients isn't outside the range of auto oils. Presumably if there was an advantage to adding your "copper or zinc" for a bike oil they would have, since they did go to the trouble of having separate formulations.

At the mark-up they all charge for motorcycle oil, if a company could conclusively produce something that was better for motorcycles, I'm sure any of them would love to have the market. Look at Amsoil - they are are selling a lot of over-priced oil that isn't even certified to SAE or the Japanese specs. They make all sorts of claims but have no test data from an independent party to back them up. And the little independent data there is seems to indicate that their oils are no better than a semi-synthetic auto oil at best.

One of the motorcyle oils was exactly the same formulation as their car oil, just a different bottle. I'll have to check which company.
