Mine was already shipped and should be arriving tomorrow or the next day (got the express delivery for only a few dollars more). I don't mind cutting the tape to make it thinner if need be, that's no problem. This will be my very FIRST project for my bike..... even if it is as minor as putting tape on it     I also have a blue scorpion helmet... but mine has a flaming skull on each side, hope the tape doesn't make that look like hell, cuz it looks cool now  O0

that stuff is so cool

im really trying to think of a place that it would work on my bike, but i just cant. not realy the same style.
nice job with it though, it looks badass.

im sure the visibility helps a lot, when i blew a fuse for my lightbar, and i was rolling with 1 headlight instead of 3, i noticed a HUGE increase in people pulling out in front of me. even during the day.

Stripes look nice but I went a bit further. Trying to cover up my nasty paint job till I get a chance to repaint it. I copied the graphics from my spare tank.I may change the white swoosh to reflective too.

very nicely done. I will probably add this detail to the bike once I get it repainted in a few week (its going to be all blue (I just need tank/sides painted to match the rest)...

WOW!
HOw did you do that?!  That isn't the same 1/8 inch tape is it?

Onion paper, trace it out, lay it out on the paper side of 3m square sheet white reflective tape kit (they sell them on ebay in various sizes) and simply trace it back down... and cut it out with an exacto knife :)

WAY cool.

how do you think the tape will hold up in rainy or hot/sunny conditions? is it stuck on there well, or does it peel off easily?

already answered that question on previous pages :) I have done my scooter the same way, and I used it for 1 year 15K miles  back and forth on highway to work all season cold (texas winter) and wet, and summer  and... its pretty much the same shape as it was when I put it on , a little windex once in a whiel to refresh (whipe grime off it)...

Onion skin would bew the hard way....  I own a vinyl sign business. I just let the computer cut them out.reflective vinyl is Very hard on blades xacto or the kind in my cutter. It's actually got glass beads in it.I buty the material in 15" wide rolls and cut what I need. I can also get the rolls of tape. Not sure if the company I deal with has quite as many colors but they do have 5 or six at least.

Not sure about the life of the tape you are getting as I'm not sure who is actaully manufacturing it.Most I get is either 5 or 7 year gauranteed, same as any good auto vinyl. I can cut pretty much anything out of it.I did a whole IROC camaro in it back in the mid '90's,all black car, all the factory stripes & letters re-done in reflective blue.Same material used on most police cars now.

If anybody need anything cut let me know and I'll get you a price.

Might as well post the price for "SUZUKI", I think people will ask.

That vinyl or Mylar stuff rocks. I used to dumpster dive for it with my high school buddies and we would make street stickers from it with paint pens. Some of my stickers are still up 7 years later.  :thumb:

I'll Try to work up a small list of colors & prices and post it in the next couple of days in the for sale section.

How much to cut one of these bad boys!

pbureau69...How much tape (length) did it take to do one of your helmets. I would like to tape up my lid but getting a roll with 37' of it would be ridiculus! I would end up having to tape my TV and cat to use it all. Anyone want to go splits on a roll of black and a roll of white? 1/8".

:o

I thought I was cheap

fenderjonesy

It's not so much that I dont want to drop 15 bucks on two rolls of tape...Im just saying that even if it took 14' of tape to do my helmet between black and white i would still have 60' of it. I figured someone out there would want to use it...its just a bonus that it is cheaper than if we both bought it on our own.

I'd bet that you could find a buyer once you're done with 'em. :thumb:

Holy Flying Crap...
Was trying to figure how to make my all black '96 easier to see at night, without changing color... Ans:  Reflective Tape.
As For AUTOMAN... I've been asking people if they remember the show with the dude that could change traffic lights from his car that took 90 degree corners on a knifre edge...AND NO ONE DID!!!  I was beginning to think it was something I had thought up during a bad trip...  Alas, GSTWIN save the day (and my sanity)...  And TroN may have been the best movie ever...    I'm definitely on the tape wagon, soon...  Thanks for the thread.  At least it's not another re-jetting question...hehehehe
