I finally ditched my grossly oversized A-stars TZ1 jacket for a new leather.  I opted for the Joe Rocket Blaster 3.0 Jacket and Ballistic 3.0 pants.  Here is a pic of everything, including my Shoei RF-1000, Teknic Violator gloves and Oxtar TCS race boots.

The pants arrived on Monday, and I just picked up the jacket today at my local Triumph dealer, where I took a test-spin on the new Daytona675

  Daytona675

Anywho, I wanted to quickly give my first impression of the joe Rocket gear and warn potential buyers of a problem I encountered.  So here goes:

The gear fits true to size, feels durable and looks pretty good, IMO.  The liner in the Ballistic pants is not removable, so I'm pretty sure they will get quite warm in the summertime, but I can handle that considering the great price.

What I can't handle is the fact that the 8" zippers to connect the pants to the jacket DID NOT MATCH EACH OTHER!!! The actual zipper teeth were the same, but apparently JoeRocket changed the pull tabs at some point, and the zipper from my pants would not seat properly into the receiver in the jacket UNTIL I SNIPPED THE TAB SHORT WITH A PAIR OF WIRE CUTTERS!!!  Fortunately, I was able to get them working together, but for a few hours I was ready to scream over this.

Caveat Emptor

So now I'm headed down to Jamestown, VA for the big 400th anniversary party this weekend.  It should be a great opportunity to break in the new gear.  Hopefully I will come back with some more comments on the new duds.

Have a great weekend all.
